Not Bama but usually a second gun, the shield guys on my team carry two pistols. We do practice by drop mag, holster gun, insert new mag and rack slide by hooking rear sight on shield.

Here are a few pics from the Gray Guns Practical Fundamentals class held here, in the People's Republic of Massachusetts this Spring.

I can only include pictures of me in this thread, since I was the only Glock shooter in the class!  I was using an early Gen 1 G17 with a set of Hi Viz fiber optic sights.

I decided to prove a point with the Glock, too.  The class was held at my home club and I assisted with hosting the class.  One of the students who was shooting an HK P7 and was far away from home forgot his cleaning kit, so I have him mine to keep for the 3 day class.  I shot a little over 1100 rounds of old 3-D 115gr FMJ's with no cleaning or lubing, while I sat and watched the other students cleaning and lubing their guns throughout the day.  I went through another 1000 rounds in the few weeks after the class, and finally broke down and cleaned/lubed the G17, but still experienced no failures of any kind.

BTW, that's Karl, who owns GT Targets running the shot timer.  I picked up a few of his AR400 pistol targets and, as a former welder by trade, I'm impressed with the quality of his products.

Or another route, hook it in the crook of your knee (backside), insert mag, rack slide on side of shield, bang.  Some of the guys on our team like to actually turn the gun upside down on the top handle of the shield and go from there.  In holster is safer though.

Everything except the HUGE words right across the gun keeping us from seeing the picture.  Nice shot though.

Yeh, the watermark pretty much ruined a great pic.

Yea, that's kind of the point. I've had photos I've posted "stolen" and used on other websites or for personal websites without my permission.  Got sick of it, so watermarks it is...

I was going to post a pic of me firing my G20 10mm, but I see you've already done so.

Here's a quick vid of my G20C with some fire coming out of the ports. The first few shots all you can see is some gasses against the green background. In the next few shots you can just make out a bit of light coming from the ports. In the last few shots you can clearly see flame coming from the ports. At the time I didn't notice anything at all. You might have to click on "Watch video in high quality" to really see it.

What's spraying off it? Oil or dirt?

Awesome picture though. Watermark needs to be somewhere else That's sand flying off.  I had to set it down to give the camera to my buddy...

Here's a quick vid and some stills from it. There was a flash from the ports every single time but sometimes it occurred in between frames.

Cool thread.  My 11 year old son shooting my model 21:

And me

He loves shooting so much that he is constantly begging to go.  We don't have a great range real close, so we make do.  Hope he keeps up his spirit.

I've always been curious as to what's the authorized engagement scenario is for doing a mag dump with a full-auto Glock.  Friends and family who are LEOs usually bring SBRs when they would otherwise have to reach for (several?) 33 round magazines.  Protection detail?  Just curious.

Don't ask me.  I just take the pictures.

If I had to make a guess at the authorzed engagement scenario, whithin the crowd I hang out with, it would be like this.

"A watermelon!  It's comin' right at us!"  Followed by multipul mag dumps.

Yup.  That's how it would go down.

I think you would of been more shocked if it had been brass flying overhead.

No doubt about it. In fact if that had been brass I wouldn't have recognized that was you.

This is from GA State Steel Challenge 2008. My took over 300 photos and this is the only one that she caught the bullet on, I think....could be the flash. It is cool looking anyway. Look at the end of the barrel.
