[ARCHIVED THREAD] - How do you like your Desert Sand DS Glock?

Saw one of these in a local shop. Friendly clerk insists the frame is molded this color but I am suspicious.

This will be a regular concealed carry.

If you have one, how is it holding up? Not looking for a beauty queen but I don't want to be carrying an ugly mess. Saying this another way, I can tolerate a worn slide but not a worn frame.

Never heard of it.

The Lipsey's FDE guns are FDE Glock frames with Austrian FDE Ceracoat. Look at the label, it will say FDE on it if the frame is an actual FDE from Glock.

The frame will stay fine. The slide is Cerakote and will get normal wear marks.

Look at the SR plate on the frame, if its covered by cerakote/duracote its not a glock oem. I got a too good of a deal to pass up on a 42 duracoated from accusport like this, after a few days of sanding I could get the mags to drop free.

It's Cerakote not Duracoat. From reading and my experience with a Duracoated G19 the Cerakote is better.

I have 2 FDE Glocks, frames are great, and the color really is molded in. Yes, the cerakote on the slide will get wear marks though.

FDE is molded but the Desert Sand is cerakoted. It's almost white in color.
