I have a G40 that I just ordered a Vortex Venom RD sight for. I'm wanting to add a set of back up iron sights because I never trust electronics 100%. Has anyone here installed a Venom and added a set of sights that they can recommend? I'm guessing I'll have to go with suppressor height sights to clear the venom but I may be wrong as I don't have it in hand yet. I'm really just looking for a set that's useable and doesn't necessarily have to co-witness. Do suppressor height sights obscure the RD sight picture in any way? Primary use for the pistol will be for hunting and as a hunting companion weapon, it may see nightstand duty use too.

I have the same set-up.  The Venom is on the way.  I am looking at the Dawson sights but have not made up my mind.  I need to give Dawson a call and make sure it would be compatible.

My Venom is being delivered today. I've also looked at the Dawson's but my concern is that they may be a little too tall and interfere with the sight picture through the Venom. They other option I'm looking at is the Ameriglo with the blacked out rear sight and tritium front. It's a "suppressor" height sight but some have complained it won't clear a RMR so I'll just wait and see what it will need once I get the Venom installed. I'll report back.
