I sent mine to Kent ffl to ffl before the requirements took affect because it was actually cheaper that way. An ffl can ship USPS Priority Mail, which mine did.

Don't know about your states requirements,  but mine (Tennessee)  my ffl logged it into his book as a repair. Then technically I guess it was his property. He shipped and recieved it back from Kent. He then logged it back out of his repair log to me. With shipping and insurance, I think it cost me about $10.

I don't know how much trouble the actual Communifornia requirement causes. Guess I will find out because as soon as I find a G34, it and an M&P are going back to Kent.

I get the feeling the ffl's you guys are contacting don't want to bother with the five minutes it takes to fill a form out.

I was going to use Polymer Refined but with the new requirement to xfer ffl to ffl I'm out.  Unfortunately my state collects tax on incoming transfers and regardless of how the law is written,  finding a dealer that will 'be nice' about it is hard, and having to pay a xfer fee twice is not appealing.

It seems like around here it's more that they don't understand. The CA requirements are actually stupid easy. The only problem is that sometimes the FFL may have to wait for a response. But generally in my experience (working for an FFL) you go to the CA website, fill out some brief info, then print a page and put it with the shipment.  You fax one copy to the receiving FFL and the other goes in the box. Simple.

The problem my state has is the sales tax requirement.  You could move from your place in TN, to WA, then have an FFL back home ship all your guns to an FFL here, and WA would want sales tax on the values of all of them.

I won't get in to the nitty gritty of it, but suffice to say, most part time gun store employees don't know nothing but what management told them.

I got in an argument out of nowhere the other day at a Quantico Tactical with a guy who later revealed he was the manager.  He was wrong about how the 4473 form and the NICS system works, plus he referred to it as a 4413 or something like that.  After he said he was the manager I wound it down and said "it's not important" and stopped taking up his time.

But, my experience with doing transfers in this state now that i'm not on the other side of the counter has been less than stellar.

(1) Myself - free, immediate

(2) GNP Tactical - pictures of his work look phenomenal

(3) Cold Bore Customs - one of the OG's, he was helpful in providing tips and feedback when I was working on my first frame

They do awesome work. I just wasn't interested in Waiting 6 to 8 months for the work to be done.

Danger Close Armament.  I personally don't own any stippled firearms, nor am I usually impressed, but this guy is good.  TX based.  Used to be based out of Colorado.

They did my G17.3.  I absolutely love the work they did.  I waited about 8 weeks.  I highly recommend them!!

I want Kent at Polymer Refined to do the Puzzle Matrix pattern on my Glock G19.4's.  But only if he moves his business to the FREE STATE of ARIZONA !!!!! (or another free state)

Hell, I'd even help him move to AZ.  I just don't want my Frames going into that COMMIE STATE !!!!

I've talked to him, and I just Love the Puzzle Matrix pattern, I just can't get past the Commie-Fornia thing.  You never know what their DOJ will do next !!!

I'm probably overly concerned, but that's just me (and maybe a few (or a lot) of you guy's too)....

I'll add pics as soon as I have them back in hand

Not that anyone cant figure it out, but Kent and Polymer Refined.

He even did a custom undercut for me, requesting a single undercut and thinned out trigger guard, in lieu of a double undercut or a single into standard thickness.  LOVE IT.

I have also used damatos custom stippling and I am a fan. It is very grippy.

I have a G34 done by Damatos and a G17 done by Robar. Robar is more of a coating then a stippling. The robar looks nice, but it's just not that grippy. The damatos G34 is so grippy that it almost hurts, which is just the way I like it.

That's a real drag to hear about Polymer Refined. I like the photos and thought about sending him some frames. My local FFL wants to smack me though when I try to have him send something to California.

Has anyone had Zev do a frame job? The price is tempting.

I've had some come through my shop. Shit work trading on a name. Stip Grips does a better job for the price point honestly.

GNP tactical is one of the best I've seen for the price, I just do my own cause I like the challenge.

2 Frames done by Kent at Polymer Refined, and they're absolutely beautiful.  The rest are home-brew.

I really like it.  Its more aggressive than I thought it would be, which is a good thing.  It almost has as much grip and a similar feel to 20 LPI checkering.

Factory S3F!  They come with all their threaded barrels, not sure if they sell them separately.

I have to admit, I like that pattern. Looks like it was molding that way? Wonder how they accomplished that?

Some nice work in this thread. From my own experience, I am super impressed with Lane at Cold Bore Customs. He has done a few Glocks for me over the years and he does awesome work.

This is the first one he did for me in 2010:
