hey,

i watched bob vogels gripvideo 1000 times and tried to copy his gripstyle:

after every rangeday, my glock is soaked in blood :-)
i mean its no scratch, im talkin about a deep fleshwound .

so im thought about a beaver tail.
my gen4 came with different backstraps, 2 are with a beavertail.

- which one can you recommend (glock or different company)
- do i loose important leverage because with a beaver tail the hand is a few milimeters lower?
- the beaver tail must be ipsc production friendly

THX VERY MUCH!

I saw no negative going to the medium beavertail back strap and the positive of being able to get a really high grip without my hand turning to hamburger. I still have scars on my right hand from years of shooting Gen 3 Glocks. Now all I own are Gen 4.

I'm with you brother.. I've got all Gen 3's but with my aggressive grip style I have to put on the grip adapter to keep the slide bite monster away.

I used to have that problem with my Gen 3's.  Now that I've switched to Gen 4's I use the large beavertail and the slide bite is gone.  They are great.

You're mindset is weak op.  If you shoot enough the slide bite will never heal and you'll have an even higher grip.

I formerly used the beavertail backstrap but I can't get as high on the gun.  So I suck it up and deal with slide bite.

I admire vogel and his level of expertise. If the grip doesn't work for you, it doesn't work.

In 30+yrs of shooting, I'd like to know how one gets "slide bite"!  Are you guys for REAL!  Play volleyball, or golf!??

Maybe in 30 years you never grew your hands big enough to have the meaty part of the web of your hand get hit by the slide when it travels back.  Your first day every day for 30 years is still one day of experience.

I always hated the scuff and when the cocking serrations would catch it would distract the shit out of me at competitions. All hail the beaver tail.
