I had my 23 jam today, twice.  Both on Hornady Custom 180 gr XTP rounds.  I never had a Glock jam before....I decided I didn't like it.  It feeds nicely with 180 FMJs.  What type of defense rounds are being used, with success?

Thanks,

I have always used 180 grain Gold Dot.

165 is good too though.

Carried a 23 for 16 years and counting.

I use a 165 gr bullet because 180gr recoil really hurts my follow up shots. IDPA shooting has really changed my mind about bullet size because bigger recoil ether gives me worse shot placement or slower shot intervals, hurting my score. This is because every target in IDPA requires at minimum a double tap, not this "man stopper" one shot BS. I used to be the bigger is better type but now focus on a balance of recoil management and delivered energy.

I carry Hornady Critical Duty 165gr BTW.

I use gold dots in most of my Glocks, never an issue.

I prefer HST, but also have Gold Dots and Critical Duty. All 3 work well.

Define "jam."

I have been carrying 180 gr Ranger-T's for years without issue.

Winchester defend(PDX1), Fed HST, Hornady XTP, Speer Gold Dot.... 4 best loads IMO I prefer 147gr standard pressure in 9mm is what I carry but 180gr 10mm Kurz are great loads.

holding the glock too loosely, aka " Limp wristing ", will cause malfunctions

the only thing I've seen a 40 cal glock choke on was semi-wadcutters

what kind of trouble were you having ?

Ran 155gr HST's in an EDC match last night, my G23gen4 has been flawless since it was purchased (it also has digested 180gr HST, and 180gr XTP).

Make sure your not limp wristing as previously mentioned.

+1 for gold dots.  My 23 ate them up.

They run great in my G22 and G27.
