New Gen 4 owner here. Have had Gen 2 and 3 and always liked the fit. Now I have the Gen 4. Without th backstrap, the grip is ok if not slightly small feeling. If I install either of the nonbeavetail grips, the web of my hand gets pushed up i to the slide travel area. The large beavertail grip feels nice as far as reach to the trigger, but adds some length to the gun and quite frankly, I'm not super impressed with the attachment design of any of the grips. Any risk of them popping off the little bit of pin that holds them on if hit or dropped?
Only have a few hundred rounds through it witjout any backstrap to check function so far and am carrying it around the house today with the large beavertail on to see how it feels. The adde grip texture isn't too bad over my Gen 3 23 and the beavertail doesn't seem to poke me the wrong way or anything yet.
Just wanted to get some feedback of what you run and why. Thanks

large for me.......I thought I was sold on medium for awhile but last weekend I went to the range with 200 rounds, 4 targets, and the backstraps.

50 shots on target 1 with medium, 50 shots on target 2 with large, 50 shots on target 3 with medium, 50 shots on target 4 with large.

My groupings were a 1/2" tighter with the large backstrap consistently, only negative was the web of my hand was millimeters away from slide bite, although it never occurred.

Fits just right.

No backstrap on my G19, I'm dead on, super comfortable!  My G17, I prefer the Medium Beavertail strap.  SUPER comfortable, more so than my P226 Elite!

This should have been a poll.  No backstrap on mine, either.  I have fairly large hands and long fingers, and it still feels best with no backstrap.

Kept with the medium because my hand and trigger finger were too used to the size of my gen 2. I tried it without and everything was going tobthe right because i had too much finger in it. Put the medium on and everything went back to center.

I've not had my 19 for terribly long, but I've got the Large beavertail on it right now. Might go to the medium beavertail just to see. Regardless, I wish Agency would come out with their low pro magwell that fits the backstraps already.

When it comes to my Glocks I basically shoot each one and figure out what works best.  For my Gen4 G19 I use the medium backstrap.  Makes the grip feel like my Gen3 G19.  Feels too small without it.  I don't like the backstrap because it is my primary concealed carry gun and the beavertail seems to print more for me, and dig into my gut when appendix carry.  Funny thing is I have a Gen4 G21 with no backstrap, Gen3 G17, and a Gen4 G17 that I don't use any of the backstraps.  One would think that since I shoot the G21 and Gen3 G17 very well, putting the medium backstrap on my Gen4 G17 would make sense, however I shoot it better without.

I used to use medium beavertail backstraps on all of my gen 4s, but I've been removing them lately. I can grip the gun higher and control it better without a backstrap. Just have to deal with the slide bite. I like to tell myself that my guns are just trying to bond with me.
