I'll be honest, I don't much care. My two 19s do everything that I could ever ask of a handgun, and whatever the hell this is won't change that.

Glock's plan is working beautifully. Release the G42 and sell every one you make. Then release the 9mm SS and sell every one you make to the people that bought the G42. It's really that^ simple. Well said. HTR. they wanted to get the 380 in the american market. Didnt we hear that the .380 was inteneded for the global market.....whereas the 9mm is restricted in many countries. That would explain the late release. |

I like my 42s, even though a 9mm close to that size/weight is what I really wanted (like most folks). I'll still buy the 43 (or whatever) when it is availble. Probably two of them. Ah, screw it. If it's a single-stack 9, I'll be calling my hookup the day it's announced.

Detailed analysis If you look at what I have circled in the picture, you’ll notice that the chamber on this new Glock seems to be a little teeny bit longer than the chamber of the Glock 42.
What cartridge is a little teeny bit longer than a .380ACP? Could it be the 9mm Luger? View Quote |

I'm sure it'll be a "soft shooter" like is said about the G42, but no one acknowledges it's due to it's bigger size. Pictures aren't going to give away specifications other than it's a Glock model and a caliber. |

Maybe next year when I can actually get my hands on a G43 I'll consider it. |

There's no way Glock won't botch this announcement just like every garbage new announcement they have.
They're the only pistols I shoot, but my life as a fanboi is constant disappoint "Oh look, we're introing threaded factory barrels 10 years after everyone else!" Glock continues its crusade for irrelevancy. Hopefully I'm wrong. |

Glock continues its crusade for irrelevancy. ...and yet their guns are still flying off the shelves... As I said, I love Glocks; they're best-in-class IMO, so there's a reason they fly off the shelves. I'm just perpetually confused and disappointed by a lot of the decisions made at the company regarding new products and innovation. There's huge market demand for certain products, but they waste everyone's time with crap that outside vendors have been doing for close to a decade. |

They need to come out with this damn single stack 9mm already before I by a Kahr to put in my pocket on the bike... View Quote Fuck it, just go ahead and buy the Kahr. They are better guns than the Glocks, by a mile. Been carrying them for years with zero problems. The CM 9 is ideal for front pocket carry. Glocks are highly overrated IMHO. |
|
The non-CW kahrs are overpriced, and all are usually too tight (requiring a break-in--does Kahr still recommend 200rds (or about $50-$100 of ammo?). I always avoided the break-in by polishing the feedramp and doing a "reliability" job). They finally worked almost all of the issues out, but for the first few years the PM9 was a horrific problem child. I still see quite a few posts with people having issues.
My only problem with the new Kahrs is the super LOOOOONG reset, which is easy to short-stroke if you're shooting really fast and/or are used to guns with fast, short resets...like glocks. |
|
I've owned both the P9 and PM9.
They were both 95% reliable so I dumped them. The occasional malfunction coupled with long trigger reset and rounds kicking out of the spare mag got old quickly. |

I have had these Kahr pistols: CW9 (twice), PM9, CM9, P380. I like the size, quality of construction etc. What I don't like is the tremendously long trigger reset. The reset made me sell them all. I don't know why I keep going back to them but the damn reset just kills the pistols.
I now carry a G42 in the front pocket everyday and a G19.4 for fun and OWB. The 42 is just a hair big on the pocket carry but I make it work. Now if the G43 is the closely sized SS 9, I just might have to make that work. |
|
My pm9 has been 100% reliable, but you have to drop the slide using the slide release. Otherwise the rounds get hung up. I still like my glocks better.
|
|
I'd by two right now.... |
|
Maybe I'll finally be able to get a G42 now.

Maybe they'll make the 43 a double stack 32auto. I would buy 2.

Might want to wait on the Kahr too; Kahr actually announced at shot show that they are doing something to reduce the long trigger reset and trigger pull. However they won't be bringing that trigger to their budget line of CW.
