no they generally don't work because the bevel inside is deeper than the bolt head thickness.
HOWEVER. If you file it down it will work. |

I bought a Aro Tek Glock front sight tool from Brownells. Get the right tools for the job.

Totally understand the urge to do something without waiting. If you have access to a bench grinder just take a regular nut driver down to a thin wall on the grinder until it clears the ridge in the machining on the inside of the slide. Keep the end of the nut driver flat and square so you don't tear up the nut and remember you will have more leverage than you probably need when you install the new sight so be gentle. Then order a correct tool for next time, you won't regret spending a few bucks to have a purpose built tool.

I used some needle nose pliers and had good luck a couple.... until I didn't. I just bought the front sight tool like others for $10 a called it a day.

Thanks for all the advice. Learned my lesson, ground down a nutdriver to install the front sight and lo and behold that sucker loosened up while at the range today even though I loctited it.
Aro-Tek tools on the way! I tried to cheap out this time and got payback in spades. Mike |

I have the Glock oem front sight tool,it is the best!
It works where the others won't eg G42. |
