Guess it just shows everyone has their own taste. I personally don't like that stipple job at all and have seen many home done jobs much nicer imo.

You guys do know that everyone doing "professional" stipple jobs started out doing the same home made jobs people talk crap about right? Lol

Had a grip reduction\reshaping done by the guys at Rocky Mountain Weaponry.

They hit it out of the park! I told them I wanted a VP9 grip profile. I think they did a marvelous job.

My glock is now my favorite handgun in my stable.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Turn around time was about 45 days. I had this Glock done around the holidays when they were really busy so there was some added wait. Time might be shorter now. Also depends entirely on what you have done.

If you notice, the grip work also includes a cerakote coating that imbeds tiny particles to give it an almost "grip tape" like texture. But it's subtle and does not ride rough at all. But still very grippy. It's held up well for several months now. I had the same cerakote\grip texture done to my VP9 and it's amazing as well.

They are an exceptionally professional shop. They will do a phone consult with you in order to ensure what exactly it is that you want, etc.

Feel free to check out their work here... http://rockymountainweaponry.com/glock-works/

It looks good but my question is how they "built" that grip? Epoxy filler or what?  Is it going to break eventually? Or is that just some damn fine technique.  My curiosity is peaked.

Very nice work.
Looks like it may be slippery when wet, however.

Regarding how they mold and shape the grip....I really cannot say. On the web page they show pics of a handgun mid-job that shows a white-ish material. I am neither a material or plastics expert so I cannot attest to what compound is being used.

The company assured me that it is as strong as the original grip and is backed by their unconditional warranty on the work. Of course I do not plan on running it over with a SUV anytime soon.

Regarding cost...really depends on what options you get. Finger grooves removed, beavertail, grip backstrap reshape are all "options" per se. The work I had done was around $200 and that included shipping costs. I also had them install the extended magazine release. That was $30ish.

About being slippery...negative. Shot it in the rain recently and it was good to go. All draws from holster were perfect. Also, my hands tend to perspire when shooting for extended periods of time and I have never had a hard time with grip. The grip coating is much better than stock, even in the rain.

An additional pic...

Thanks. Yes, it is heat-stippled. I just took the soldering iron and "drew" overlapping curvy lines until it was all covered.

In my experience, the Trijicon HDs (which have a rather sharp rear sight) have more effect on my clothing than the stippling on my pistol.
