External dimensions are different. .40 is 10mm and therefor has a larger diameter than the 9mm barrel, which would be too small for the barrel opening of the slide (too loose). Your options are a 9mm conversion from Lone Wolf or a G19 slide.

Ive got a LW 9mm Brl for my G23. Works great.
But i would buy Storm Lake or KKM if i were to do it again. |

I had a guy tell me that you can just put in a g19 barrel in and it will work flawless but i would never trust shooting a gun with a loose barrel/chamber.
