LGS has them for $399
Is that about as good as it gets for regular retail pricing? |
In my area I have seen the 42's going for $470 to $499 for non LEO guns. Local demand and availability seems to be the driving factor in price right now.
The local shops here are between $459-$489. I just picked one up on Gunbroker for $376 + shipping and transfer. About $430 OTD. It is a great little shooter. Unfortunately my GF has claimed it as hers,so now I am looking to get another. I would say that $399 is a great price.

$399 is what my LGS has them for...since the 16th is payday, I'm going to buy one in 10 hours when they open.
$399 it is, then.
Why do I have the feeling that in about six months Glock will then introduce the same size firearm in a 9mm? |

$399 if what I paid for mine, picked up some pierce extensions for my big hands.
Arms Unlimited (I think) has them on sale for $355 + $20 shipping. Shippings ridiculous, but the total of $375 is still a good deal.

I would be all over a 9. Those .380 bullets are too small for my ten thumbs. No way I could reload them, and way to pricey for a wimp round. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

If I could get any G42 guns, I would sell them for $380. But none of the distributors I deal with have them right now.

Yeah but it is Botach. Botach has a reputation for selling things not in stock and making you wait. And wait. Arms Unlimited has a good price, $404, however a good price with no stock is the same as a high price with no stock. |

View Quote I used to buy stuff from Botach years ago and never had a problem. But it wasn't high-dollar items like guns. Stuff like mags, CR123 batteries and a set of cuffs...stuff they always have in stock. |
I picked mine up for 430 OTD. Really small and light. I have been carrying it in a pocket holster when wearing shorts and weights no more than my Samsung Galaxy S3 and has a smaller footprint. Wife is asking for one now.
Hopefully I can get another one soon. |
I just got back from the LGS and paid 399 + 6% tax. Not to bad.

Went to the lgs a few hours ago... in StL [I believe location plays a part] and they wanted 450 before taxes.... ouch. I need 2.
They had 10 last Friday... one today. I'll buy two... but smartly. keep posting good deals that are internet oriented. Thanks, |
I'd be curious to know how many they've sold so far. Great little gun that's flying off the shelves.

Ordered my 42 from Botach late Friday July 25th.
Received email Tuesday July 29 with tracking number. It arrived at my FFL Thurs July 31. Picked it up today. I'm happy. Can't beat $359 shipped. And in case anyone is interested, it was test fired 6-5-14. |
They're $419 to $459 at the local gunstores in my area, and they're selling a lot at those prices--so I doubt they'll come down much if at all. $399 seems to be the average "good" price, so I'd pay $20 more to support local businesses (not $60 though).

Got mine back in June for a total of $434. $399, $20 ship, $15 transfer. That seems to be the starting retail price in my AO before tax. I think I did ok all things considered.

I wanted to give Botach every opportunity to 'do right'.
They didn't. A summary of the details: On 7-28 I ordered 2 G42s from Botach @ $359.99 each. On 7/30 they requested my FFL which I gave them. On 7/31 they requested I contact my FFL and have him a copy of his license, which I did. On 8/1 my status read 'payment pending' which made no sense, since I had given them my credit card info on 7-28. I learned that they close early on Fridays [8/1] by calling them, so I contacted them again, on Monday 8/4. On 8/4 their customer service person was give the voice mail request to call me. On 8/5 I called their 'sales' extension [since CS hadn't called me back] and verbally asked Eli to request CS call me and he said he would. On 8/6 still no call from CS [now mind you there were multiple email and phone tree efforts throughout the process on my part not documented here for brevity] so I called again, 3 x it went to voicemail after in terminal waits, and time 4 was answered by Barak Botach himself! I explained the situation and he did checking, himself, and after a a couple of on holds and his inquiries he determined the 2 I ordered his staff sent to others who ordered after me. He was apologetic and said I'd get the next two that came in. Early last week more came in. No notification, no notification, so late last week I called and asked to speak w/ Barak. 'Barak is not in the office this week' so I explained my situation and Eli went to the manager in charge to see what could be done. The answer came back: 'we can only sell them to you for our list price of $425. I then asked Eli to ask the manager to sell me one of their stock at their cost, he asked and came back with 'can't do that ... only the list price of $425'. I then asked Eli to inform Barak when he comes back about our conversation and he said he would, in fact he'll call him before he returns. Their CS sucks, I cannot count the number of times their order status was wrong [for another order I placed w/ them during the above, about which I haven't written here as well as the multiple attempts to contact them by phone, email and chat on the above issue. That has been about 1 1/2 weeks ago. No word. No nothing. I hardly ever say 'never'... but Botack will be way low on my list of sources for anything going forward. |
