THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT For giggles, I removed the extractor assembly and FPS. It seems to feed A LOT better. What in this assembly could be binding me up right before the barrel lifts into battery? I believe the extractor is right, I ordered it from Lone Wolf as a 10mm extractor. Thanks! Update: I installed a LW extractor and bought some factory Winchester Silvertip rounds. The symptoms seem very much the same. Is it possible that my extractor has too much tension and this is causing me trouble? What can I do about that? Clip some coils on the spring? I just put the LW barrel in my G21 Slide and it seems to work perfect. Goes up into battery nice and smooth and during a press check it comes back out of battery nice and smooth. What could I have wrong with the extractor or could there be a problem with the slide? The tension on the extractor seems to be about the same as the tension on my G21 extractor. |

Are you using a G21 longslide with a conversion barrel, or, are you using a longslide G20 slide? If you're trying to use a G20 extractor with a G21 slide, then that's your problem. The G20 extractor doesn't work in a G21 slide.

It is a LW G20 Slide and extractor.
I just pulled my G21 extractor out and it doesn't work either. Should I go ahead and order a new extractor for a 10mm? Is it possible I got a bad one from LW when I first ordered one to assemble my slide? I believe it is a 10mm extractor, because the G21 extractor definitely fit differently. |

Do the rounds drop in the barrel freely when the barrel is out of the slide?

The rounds should "plunk" easily into the chamber, when the barrel is removed, and the case head should be flush or nearly flush with the barrel hood. Are you using a LWD brand extractor or a Glock factory G20 extractor?

The rounds drop into the chamber great, they sit about .007" deeper than the barrel hood.
It is a glock brand extractor. I checked on Lone Wolf's website and it says their extractor has a "6" stamped on it. I couldn't find this on mine. |

I ordered it from Midway, I believe, as a 10mm Glock extractor. I guess I will get LW's 10mm extractor coming!

Could be out of spec slide holding a good extractor at a bad angle.
you may be able to slowly analyze the extractor interfacing with the round as it chambers...and discern the offending gepmetry and use a file to correct the extractor profile to work in the out of spec slide. Use a good glock and watch the extracor working properly when chambering to better ascertain proper function when you analyze the G20LS chambering abnormalities. use a flashlight and muzzle awareness...better yet remove the striker for the testing. |

Is there a decent writeup around anywhere for this? I have dummy rounds ![]() |

you said the barrel works good in your G21 slide, which sounds like the barrel is binding in your G20 slide...how does it do with no ammo, just racking the slide?

I took a paint stick and painted the end of my extractor then fed a few rounds and filed off where it rubbed. It seems to be a lot better now. I am still working on getting it perfect.

I have this problem with a 17 long slide that I built up using the Lone Wolf barrel and slide and stock Glock internals. Even after sending it back to Lone Wolf with some of my dummy cartridges it still doesn't function properly. Next time I go to the range I am going to try putting my 17L barrel in my stock 17 slide and see if that works. If it does, I'll put the barrel back into the long slide and swap my 17 extractor into the long slide.

The LWD slide is out-of-spec. Nothing wrong with the barrel or extractor.
