i have a bunch with the 2183-1 follower. i got a new 10rd mag from glock that has a 2183 -2 follower. also the spring is a lot stronger than the older ones. reading the internet, it seems that people are saying replace the 2183-1 with regular 9mm followers. so should i be getting 2183-2's or regular 9mm followers for the 10rd mags

If you're not having any problems, don't change a single thing.

Some people experience failures to feed with the 10-round 9mm magazines that have some variation of 2183 follower, which can usually be fixed by using a newer variation of 2183 follower or by using 9mm3 followers. Supposedly there's a 2183-3 by now but I'm not sure.

last round 147 gr hp's sticking on the feed ramp with some of the 10 rd followers... I forget by now which followers will work in those mags. Probably is the 9mm-3 followers. Some of the newest followers won't work in the older mags.

I called Glock and they sent me some new followers. I was expecting the 2183-2 follower, but was sent the 9mm-3 follower. put them in for use in a match last weekend and they ran 100%. I'm curious why they even use a special follower anyways.
