THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT It's been probably ten years since I've own a Glock, however in those ten years I got my Utah CCW and carry in Wisconsin and Indiana. The G26 is great as a carry gun. Question for you folks: In your opinion, what are the things that I should consider for my pistol? I have a new Comp-Tac holster and mag carriers. What I mean is, should I consider a lighter trigger? From whom? Extended mag release? Anything else? She shoots great. Of course, I would like a lighter trigger but I don't want to sacrifice reliability in any way. So if anyone has any recommendations of things every Glock 26 should have, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for reading. |

A high vis front sight and throw a G23 mag in it or an extension. I prefer the G23 mag myself
Edit: DUR, I'm used to the 27. For you it would be 19 mags |

I have the same gun and love it. I took it to a Glock armorer and had him put I think the brand was truglow nite sights. I have the ones that are fiber optic with the tritium in them for night. I also had him do a trigger job. I didn't have him mess with the pre travel or over travel (I think I will next time I'm near his shop) but he put in a 3.5lb connector and changed the trigger spring to a lighter one. His display gun set up the same way pulls at 3.6lbs. I like all my mods, he used Glock parts and gave me back my old parts. I laugh at those that say a trigger job can open you up to liability. Show me some case law.

Stipple it. Put a G17 trigger face in it if you don't like the serations. Then shoot it. Don't mess with the trigger.

Magazines, ammo and a good holster. Then, shoot the crap out of it for a while. In my experience, lots of people want to mod their Glocks when they first get them, only to finally return to pretty much factory specs not long after. Shoot it for a while and see if there is anything you want to change, then make intelligent changes. Don't change it just to change it, unless it is to be a "fun gun".

This is all you need:
CTAC, MTAC, or Super Tuck Mag pouch of your choice (and sometimes I "choose" my back pocket )
Spare mags - A few 10 round mags and 17 round mags to carry as reloads A huge pile of ammo Steel night sights are a great idea, too, but I wouldn't say they're a "must have". |

1) Steel night sights (I like XS Big Dots - others hate 'em -shrug-)
2) Take a professional training class with it. (I've seen a bunch of G26's make it through 2-day, 1,000 round classes - G26's straight-up work) 3) Practice what you learned in the training class. 4) See #3 -Glocks that get "worked on" (triggers, extended mag releases, etc) tend to cause issues. -IF you get mag extensions, be SURE to get longer springs to go with them. I prefer to just use a G19 or a G17 mag. -Stippling / grinding away the front of the grip to make 1 handed reloads easier is fine to do - just don't get TOO carried away with it. Watch this video from Paul Gomez to see what I'm talking about with modifying the frame. |

I hear great things about the G.A.P. floorplates. They offer a better grip, without actually lengthening the grip.
I'm not sure why people get the sub-compacts, and then immediately throw compact mags in them, giving up the only true advantage of the subs; less grip length, meaning less printing. |

You might as well stock up on 33rd magazines before some jack-ass bans the importation of them via Executive order.

I love my g26
Mine is stock short of night sights My $.03 on mags... Skip the extensions. Practice and carry the 10 rounders it will concel better and if you use extensions at the range you wont shoot the same as you would the short ones. My 26 rides in the same supertuck my 19 rides in. |

On a carry gun, the only thing you should be worrying about is range time

I have the XS standard sights on my G26, love them, the Big dot are too big for such a short line of sight IMO.

As far as I know, the only place to buy them is from their own website: http://www.concealablecontrol.com/order.html |

I carry a G26 daily; also bought one for my daughter and one of my sons. I installed Meprolight 10226 night sights that are designed specifically for the G26/G27. I can't stand the trigger pull of any of the factory Glock connectors, so I always install an aftermarket connector in my Glocks. Currently using a LWD connector. I also polish all the mating surfaces in the firing mechanism. I recently acquired GAP floorplates and love 'em. Have recommended them to several friends who carry G26s.
Lastly, I install Agrip on all my Glocks. I use a G19 mag with A&G extension for a backup mag for my G26. Oh, yeah, I use a Wolff steel guide rod setup with factory-strength springs. I have had guide rods break in both my G26 and my G30. Never had a steel guide rod break!! |
