The P-64 shoots the 9x18 Makarov round.  It is built around the Walther PPS/K design.

I bought it because I wanted something smaller, mainly skinnier.  The makarov round is also a good compromise being a little more powerful than a .380.  I mean, the P-64 was a duty gun believe that or not.  The firearm carries very well.

The gun design and in practice is very reliable.

Drawbacks:  Extremely heavy DA trigger pull (I have springs that lessen it), not drop safe.  Also parts are not easy to come by.

So I carry with safety on and hammer not cocked... which isn't ideal but it is the safest for this particular gun.  I have proven that I can draw, get the safety off and make the double action pull and keep the gun on target (obviously not under pressure).  Which is good enough for me, the gun is for times I wouldn't carry my M&P 40c and just having a gun on me is a win.

Great review of the gun:

This shows both guns I carry, pending the day. Plus everything else.

Gun:
Sig P220 Extreme in either a Desantis Cozy Partner IWB or a Bravo Concealment OWB loaded with Winchester PDX 230gr JHP and an extra mag

or

Ruger SP101 2" .357 in a Tagua 4-in-1 with 2 HKS speed loaders in an HKS pouch loaded with Remington Golden Sabers

The rest:
Kershaw assisted open folder
Streamlight ProTac 2L
Keys
Wallet
Movado Series 800
Flash drive with copies of all pertinent data (not pictured)
HTC DNA phone (used to take pic)
Wilderness Instructors belt

Just ordered a new Kershaw folder. Have a TLR-1 HL that I put on the gun at night and as soon as the new BC RTT Light Bearing Holster comes in itll be part of the daily carry.

This one is somewhere around 6-7 years old I think.  I bought it right after the MTAC came out, and I can't remember how long ago that was now.

Might be going up on the EE soon as I don't use it much any more.  Most of the time I carry in a Raven Phantom or an INCOG now.  For some reason I am having a hard time convincing myself to sell it, though.

Just a PSA for you on the Benchmade OTF......keep it very clean! It WILL jamb on you when you need it most, I see the badge and would hate to have you need it when your life depended on it and it craps out on you! I have delt with them for years and at best its a 50/50 on reliability....

I love the little guy. It has a little divider in it so you can separate your cards, I put my bank card on one side alone for easy access since it is the one I use the most. Can put a patch on it if you want but I don't as it defeats the purpose.

I currently have bank card, ID, work ID, CCW ID, health ins. card and money folded into 1/4's.
