I just came across this stuff. I'm sure it is better than .22 birdshot and not quite as good as a .264 win mag. But I'm kind of surprised to see it for sale in so many places. It's a hollow point so it should stay put when it hits. It's slower than a typical 9mm so it probably won't go as deep, but it is heavy for caliber so it will probably go deeper. Maybe it is all a wash. I'm pretty firmly convinced that 2 bullets COM is far, far better than any 1 particular bullet, so it probably just doesn't matter.
I just want to see what people think. It seems interesting and I can't really find info on it. But I know my search skills are not great.

I'm not sure which round you are referring to,but many police departments, including the FBI, use 147 grain 9mm as a duty round.

Huh, I didn't know that. I clearly am not as educated about this as much as I could be. Thanks.

It's a subsonic 9mm round, it's everywhere because the HP rounds are both devastating to soft tissue but when used with a suppressor eliminate the report and quiet the overall shot.

When I purchased my suppressor, while waiting for the stamp to come back, I immediately purchased a couple thousand rounds.

I can see your point. That's definitely more of a specific bullet for self defense. And the price is the same.

It's considered to be the gold standard by many.

My cupboard was bare of the 124gr HST that I carry every day.  I am gonna try some 147 from that club.  Thanks for posting this, bought three boxes.  I shopped around a bit and that is a good price.  $10 shipping for three boxes.

Most places were $20-22 and ammoman is $42 per fifty round box.......

Thanks for the reminder about Bone Frog - that's a great deal. Added a couple TTI G43 +10% mag springs to my order (another good deal at $3.99 ea). Bone Frog's Gold Dot prices are really good too - hopefully they get some more 147 gr in stock soon.

Plenty of gel tests on youtube man. I prefer the 147 grain Federal HST for self defense, good expansion.

I am using 4.7 grains of Power Pistol with Hornady 147 grain XTP's, CCI-500 primers and mixed USA brand brass. This load is very close to factory 147 and runs through my chronograph at 950 fps. Very accurate, reliable and cheap compared to store bought. I paid $17.50 per 100 for the projectiles.

The same ammo runs at 1000 fps from my SIG MPX 8.5" barrel.

147gr HSTs are the best 9mm load in my book
