I love the way the Vanguard carries but, I want full coverage of my pistol. Who makes a holster that carries just as well?

In this case you cannot have both......

No, not really. I'd like the muzzle end covered to keep from pushing against it and potentially pushing it free of the holster.

I think you are defeating the whole purpose the Vanguard if you want to get full coverage of the pistol.  If you want a full coverage pistol you are going to have to give up the whole idea of the vanguard.

I agree with what is said above, however maybe look at the Stealthgear AIWB.

JM Custom Kydex has a holster that has the least amount of Kydex for full coverage I've ever seen. I am guessing what you like about the Vanguard is that there is nothing under the muzzle digging into your leg (where they typically put the retention screws on kydex). http://www.jmcustomkydex.com/p/AIWB.html

What I like is the very small footprint of the holster and it's great comfort. I'd just like to find something close.

That's sort of like saying "I want something that runs and handles like my Corvette but I want to be able to haul furniture in it as well."

It doesn't have to be the same mode of carry(trigger guard) I'm fine with a regular holster. What I like about the Vanguard 2 is simply how comfortable it is.

The reason it is so comfortable is because there essentially is no holster. Anything providing full coverage to the gun isn't going to be as comfortable. It's a one or the other proposition.

Maybe this?

I have an old old version...prob the first gen they released. It's great for what it does.

Milt Sparks Summer Special II

Very comfortable for me.

I like the belt loop position because I can put my 3:00 pants loop between them for a secure positioning.

Usually available at Brownell's.

Good Luck

Fist holsters has an ultra thin kydex option. I have their #1K for a shield that I use for appendix carry and it has held up well for 2+ years now. I would recommend for a lighter weight gun, but I imagine it would work for a heavy gun as well. I would just check the stitching and seams more frequently.

Check with DAVE_M, he has a design that looks like it would fit your requirements...
