Just making sure I consider all the options, so I want to know what's out there:

The best thing for me would be a single stack glock 19. This boils down to:

5" tall (8+1 mags)
4" barrel (willing to go as low as 3.5")
polymer + striker fired (highly prefer no external safety)

Besides a Walther CCP, Kahr, or XD-s, am I missing anything in that category?

The shield other than your shy on your barrel length by .4" Though I'd think the velocity gain on 4/10's would be negligible. G43 with some Taran Tactical mag extenders, 3.3" barrel so only shy by 2/10's.

3953? smith,  (really just a 3913 with a DAO and no safety. )
IIRC ruger makes a striker fired 9mm LCS? which is 3.5 I think.

I would probably go with the S&W Shield, or Springfield XDS 4.0 if you really want the longer barrel.

Walter PPS. They shoot like they have longer barrels.

Walther PPS
3.2" barrel but .3" is not going to make any significant difference.

Might look at the Kahr P9 or CT9; the CT9 is the bigger of the two. For ccw purposes I'd lean more toward the P9 personally.

P9:     CT9:

The TP9 is another one worth looking at; basically a more nicely-finished version of the CT.

What's wrong with a Glock 19?

HK P7?  Finding holsters might be an issue unless you go custom.  You are giving up a lot for 7 mm less width, at best.

The lock turned me off to it.  Do they produce a version without the lock?  Cause I don't buy guns with locks.

1.2"[30.5 mm] is a bit wider than a Glock 19 [30 mm].  It also has a longer grip.  It is shorter, but that is the easy part to conceal.  You also give up 3 rounds of capacity.
I would do a XDS 3.0 before the Taurus.

Probably because most don't think a 2 1/2 pound trigger pull (after a long "dead" takeup) is suitable for a concealed carry defensive firearm.

I literally pleaded with the Apex folks to do their magic on the BP9CC with a proper trigger and trigger pull, and bypass the lock and magazine disconnect.

Another vote for Kahr. I have a CM9 which is smaller than you are looking for, but they make excellent firearms with very smooth triggers.
