A full sized 1911 with an ambi safety always is carried Condition One. My current small 1911 is a Detonics Combat Master, and its manual of arms is a bit different, so it gets carried differently. Since the gun was designed to be carried hammer down on a live round, then manually cocked during the draw stroke, that's how it's carried. I'm not monkeying with a classic gun like this and adding an ambi safety, so it gets carried like the company's manual of arms states. This isn't an idiot-proof way of carrying a 1911, and snub-nosed guns like this require constant practice to stay sharp. It doesn't suffer fools or foolish behavior, but if you want an idiot-proof gun, buy a Glock 19.

Cocked and locked.

With the grip safety and manual safety to sweep, you are good to go.

That "hammer back" really screws with people's heads, but yet....nobody bothers to even give a striker cocked and ready to go a second thought.

Get comfortable with it,  and you'll be fine.

The way John Moses Browning meant it to be: Condition 1 Locked and Cocked.
