New to CCW and looking for holster recommendations, I know a full size might not be the best option but for now it is what I have. Anybody else carry full size M&P?

blade-tech nano

Desantis Intruder, or similar hybrid

I carry a full size 40 cal M&P often

Get yourself a quality belt designed for CCW...I like the Blade-Tech Looper belt. ( amazon has them )

Don't fuck around with a cheap walmart belt for full size carry

I carry a fullsize M&P40 and 5" 40 Pro occassionally and use bladetech IWBs. The Pro might be a nano but I'm thinking it's a classic style bladetech.

How much does a good belt come into account with ccw?

Ive had 2 belts in the last 14 years. Prior to that I ruined several crappy leather belts in 3 or 4 years.
I bought a Wilderness 5 stitch and replaced that with a Galco belt that was almost the same, paid $40 or less for each. Ive been contemplating buying another belt or I could get the velcro on the Galco replaced. Probably both just to have another option. I wear a belt everyday all day. If I'm not at work,  I have a firearm attached to it.

A gunbelt needs to be stiff vertcially so that it doesnt collapse ( roll up instead of remaining flat) or sag under the weight of the pistol/holster. There are several belts that have a polymer insert between the layers to stiffen them up, blade techs/the galco I have/some of the wilderness belts/others Im sure also.

I CC a full-size Beretta M9A1, and I can tell you that a good stiff belt is absolutely needed. While the M&P is lighter, a good belt makes carry much more comfortable.

I use a Simply Rugged Cuda with IWB straps for my Beretta. Very comfortable.

Kramer horsehide IWB #3 is what I use with my M&P40 full size with CTC. I carry at the 3 o'clock, very comfortable.

I've carried full sized M&Ps (.40 and .45) in a Crossbreed holster.  Very comfortable, and I hate carrying IWB.
