Was wondering how you guys and gals carried your pistol in your vehicle. Do you have a vehicle specific pistol and an EDC or do you transfer your EDC from holster to a certain spot when you get your vehicle?

Anyone have a holster mounted somewhere where they can access the pistol easily if need be?

I usually stick my pistol between the seat and center console but I'm a lefty and that doesn't work so well. Depending on the area I am in I may actually tuck it under my right leg just so I feel warm and fuzzy knowing it is closer and easier to get too.

I move my IWB holster to the 3:00 position. That's about it.

Got a holster attached to the console in the WJ.  Goes from OWB waist to there and back.

The SRT... nothing yet.  It does fit pretty nice behind the speaker for the ham radio under the dash, in the console, though.

Slick, how did you attach the holster there?

Appendix in and out of the car. While driving I tuck the shirt behind the holster and put the seat belt over the holster. If I pull up to a drive thru etc. I just pull the shirt over the pistol momentarily.

I'm not a fan of under the steering column of exposed holsters of any flavor for a couple of reasons: traffic stops and even if it is an empty holster with no gun in it, I don't like the change of someone being able to look at or in my vehicle and see any gun-related matter.

Im not a big fan either of anything you can see from outside the vehicle. I also don't like pulling my carry piece in and out everytime I get in or out of the vehicle.I took a cheap Fobus paddle holster and removed the paddle and used the holes to mount it to the seat frame below my right leg next to the console. I can stick my hand right down between my leg and the console and draw the pistol and its far enough down on the front of the seat that you can not see it from out side, its J Frame Smith .38 Special so it don't need to much room to hide! For a left handed person it would be easier to mount on the left side but people would see it everytime you opened the door.

Too bad, though.

If someone with a pistol in NY is seen by someone in NY you will be charged with a crime.  If I were to leave a pistol in my car, and it were stolen or used in any crime I'm sure they would come up with something to charge me with.  On my waist or in my pocket is where my pistol or pistols go.  Many of you are very lucky people indeed, based on your state of residence.

I was on the highway and drove by the yellow taxi before the trooper got out and approached.  I know many who were trapped behind when the asshole opened up with a .223 ak and sent rounds down the highway at innocent men woman and children.   A long rifle in a vehicle should be considered a must in my opinion.  Handguns obviously as well, but sometimes the truly unexpected happens.  Again, I live in NY.  Take advantage of your states laws.

I take it that the gum creek option is a pretty solid platform then.

Vehicle carry in IL means it still has to be concealed. I carry appendix all the time, which works pretty well in the car.

Im also concered abput an officer escalating the situation during a traffic stop if the holster/gun is seen. What are some mounting options for a sedan that have fast access with out being visible from the outside (not a truck, so high viewing angle from window and no deep center console).

Door panel. Only seen when door is open. I did this for a while and just transferred when got into and out of car.

What about when they don't approach from the drivers side like on the highway?

I like mine and the metal hooks are coated in rubber so they do not scratch the dashboard. Did you visit the website and look at the sample install in vehicles? I take my holster off when my car goes in for service.

Carry AIWB.  Fast from a seated position and you can run your seat belt under your shirt but over your belt.

Problem solved.

appendix everywhere lawfully. Places it's not on: shower, crapper, on bed, but always arms reach.
