I don't know which is stiffer, but I highly recommend Beltman. I've been wearing one for over six years.

The Looper's are cheaper and as nice or almost so, but I can't speak to their long-term durability yet like I can to the Beltman's products (which definitely hold up well to time and use in my experience). |

When I bought them I asked the beltman if I needed a stiffener. Since I wear the belts with suits he recommended that I go with horsehide because they are stiffer and the finish is nicer. I have different sizes and colors for different types of clothes and they all work great. Just add a little locktite to the screws when you get them because they will come lose after a while! |

Thanks for the help everyone. Loopers makes a good belt with the features I'm looking for ( 1 3/4 in wide and a kydex stiffener) for a good price ( $70 ). The only reason I'm going to go with The Beltman is because I want a dark brown color and a black buckle.
My only question I have is which is stiffer, horse hide with kydex stiffener or bull hide with kydex stiffener ? Thanks in advance for the help. |

To speak to the Looper's long-term durability: I've been wearing mine everyday going on eight years this fall. I'm very happy with mine...I highly recommend them. |

I certainly haven't seen anything to indicate they won't hold up (quite the opposite), I just haven't had them that long yet and don't want to make assumptions. |
