I've got a truck gun nearly all the time, too. Yet I've managed to keep out of trouble.

My permit was pending, by a cop friend told me on that day to never take it off again. I took his advice to heart. Never had a reason to pull it, but I try to stay aware of what is going on, and to avoid potential trouble spots.

Expect to get some dishonest answers like "i carry a 1911, two spare mags and a surefire everywhere" (leaving out Except the gym, beach, work, pool). They try to wargame each destination and the likelyhood of needing a gun there rather than having a hard fast rule of ALWAYs being armed outside of the home.
