So i was cruising gunbroker and saw a vz858. Figured this would be a good place to talk about it as none were imported to the states. From what i read in a quick search they dont have chrome line bores but have a longer barrel. It would be a rare bird to have though im unsure of the legalities of non imported rifle ending up here. Thoughts anyone?

I have one, they were imported as single stack guns then Czechpoint modified them. CZ imported them but now Czechpoint does it solely.

Thats what im saying, the 858 was never imported and that rifle clearly is marked cz858. Those were not imported so im thinking it was smuggled in, am i wrong?

Whats to say someone with some pull got it brought over from Canada? I certainty would not pay extra for it.

I would bet money that VZ858's are for sale in Europe, therefore any service member stationed overseas could buy one and ship it home (assuming the Form 6 was approved.) I know when I was in Germany in the early 1980's I bought lots of guns at the Rod & Gun Club in Stuttgart and brought them all back on Form 6's.

Wish we paid what the Canadians do for unmolested CZ manufactured VZ 58's. The monopoly on the market here sucks.

As long as the rifle is in a legal configuration, and you didn't import it illegally, I wouldn't worry about it...but that's just me.
