Im looking at attaching a red dot to a VZ2008 and was looking at using the bonesteel arms quad rail is there a better way to do this ? Also is it worth while to replace the skeleton stock or just wrap it with paracord and get the rubber but pad for it ? Also what is the best muzzle attachment?

I have a set of the Bonesteel rails. I like them very much. Attaching a railed handguard is the easiest way to mount an optic. The Bonesteel sits the lowest on the market. So that helps if you want to run co-witness. Some sights (like the Bushnell TRS-25 or some Aimpoints) will co-witness. Two other ways to mount optics would an aftermarket dustcover. Don't see those vary often and they may not fit on a 2008. They may not hold zero well either. The second most used option would be to attached a side rail and use an optic mount. Since you're using a 2008. The receiver or the rail would need to be modified to fit.

I like the folding stock. But it may not be ideal. You could get the fixed beaver barf stock. Or buy and adapter (will need to be modified some to fit a 2008) and throw on a buffer tube and use any various AR type stocks for best shooting comfortability.

Are you looking for a muzzle brake or a flash suppressor. There are many options. The original Czech military muzzle brake is pretty common and popular. Prices go from $25to infinity in price depending on what you want

Have you tried running the Czech rubber butt pad and cheek pad for the folder?

I know about the Czech butt pad for the metal folder but what is the cheek pad?

Also, the same muzzle brake can be found on CNC Warrior site in stock (I think bonesteel gets them from them):

Unless I'm missing something. You have this skeleton (the only skeleton stock) on your vz. 2008? https://www.czechpoint-usa.com/skeleton-stock-complete?l=5 If so, that's the first time I've seen anyone put one of those on the 2008. As the skeleton stocks are what originally came on CSA/Czechpoint 58's for importation. Then Czechpoint switched many out for surplus factory folders or beaver barf fixed stocks. Now they switch out some for newly made polymer fixed (barf style) stocks.

The linked above skeleton stock is the only stock that the cheek piece you linked too would fit on.

If you can find one of these buttstocks, they are good.  It is the factory folding stock overmolded with polymer.  The pic below is of my rifle.

Oh, I thought you meant it was for the folder.

The updated folder pictured above is usually on gunbroker but they want $280 for them.

FWIW - I'm not a big fan of FWD mounted optics but YMMV - the billet railed receiver covers are slick but I just couldn't justify the $$!
My set up is a Zahal Receiver side mount and adapter (Milled down to fit the VZ.2008) with a Vortex Strikefire II.
I have the Czech Brake but would buy the Bonesteel or CNC Warrior if available (At the time I bought mine all were out of stock)
As for the stock the polymer overmolded one is really slick and one day I might upgrade but for now the AK Rubber but-pad get's me the additional LOP added to the stock folder.

How is the Apex ak47 butt pad on it ? I have read that it seems to fit fairly well but it doesnt allow it to close all the way is this something I could cut down a bit for it to fold all the way ? Also are you guys using and special ways to tie the paracord on the stock ?

The UTG Butt Pad fits pretty snug; but I did add a small Velcro Strap from a video cable to help keep in place.

http://www.amazon.com/UTG-Model-Combat-Butt-Pad/dp/B002TUSK06

Mine will fold closed and lock but it is snug against the receiver - it could be sanded to provide a bit more clearance.
While it doesn't look the best but it does the job! LOP is just over 13.5" now.
