Hi guys,

As the thread title suggests, I'm hoping that someone could please help me to identify the manufacturer of the handguard and magwell adapter fitted to rifle below. I'd be very grateful to anyone who can offer advice.

Cheers.

Well, it's obviously not this one:

which is the factory adapter.

Rails upper and lower are NEA(North Eastern Arms) out of Canada

Thanks for the feedback Blitzkreig. I'd thought that the upper handguard bore a striking resemblance to NEA's but the bottom was so different from the modular set-up that I'd discounted it.

You can see the differences between the two clearly below:

Standard(?)

I'm not sure if the "standard" is in production or not. I haven't seen it listed for sale as of yet. The magwell adapter is still a mystery of course.

Thanks for your feedback Bohem. I came to the same conclusion regarding the CSA magwell adapter. The Bruger & Thomet adapter you linked to is sadly only compatible with the CZ-858 in 7.62x39 and is designed for Robinson Armament 7.62x39 10 Round AR Style Magazines. So quite specific and limited in its application!

Link?  I just spent 20 enjoyable minutes scrolling through B&T's website, but couldn't find the adapter.

Yeah, that doesn't help, was hoping it was the picture above it.  Trying to solve the bullet button problem, and the answer is probably AR flats from the Flat Spot.

The lower is the NEA Gen II lower.  The pic with the Microdot is one of my rifle :)  NEA no longer produces them anymore.

The reason for that ten round only mag adapter was for a VERY specific market - Canada. Canada only allows magazines greater than 5 rounds for pistols. Apparently some AR based pistols are legal, (or were until recently), in Canada, they could use ten round magazines. Using this very specific adapter allowed someone who owned a 7.62x39mm AR pistol in Canada to legally use those same ten round magazines in his CZ858 rifle...until recently when the RCMP decided retroactively all vz-58 rifles are now suddenly illegal. If Wolverine would change the design to work in the 5.56mm rifles ad work with most AR magazines, it would sell well here in the US - one reason I sold my 5.56mm vz-58 was that I really couldn't trust the adapter 100% due to it's construction. Great rifle, but a work in progress.
