Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - cut up some 304 stainless to make a lower handguard heat shield. Ideas?

I cut a 304 18/8 stainless water bottle I got at a thrift store for 50 cents into a flat sheet.  Gonna fab up a lower handguard heat shield with it.  Do I want to conform to the lower handguard body or make a V shape out of the steel and vent it?  Ideas?

Not sure which would be better but interested in the results.  Only way to know for sure would be make 2 and try them out.

I wonder if an amd65 lower front hand guard could be adapted hmmmmmmmmmmmm
