I have an SB47 that came on my Draco pistol, no major complaints but the rubber part is starting to loosen up from the mounting tube.

Was just going to glue or pin it but after running a Shockwave on my AR pistol I'm thinking of just snatching it off and putting another Shockwave on the SB tube.

Anyone done this? How's the fit?

Also thought about making it a folder as the KAK is flat enough for that, but the only folding setup I've seen is from US MachineGun and that's too much $$$ for this one. Any options for modding the stock SB mount with a hinge?

I switched to the Shockewave on both my Draco and M92 and will never use the SB47 again. Lighter, smaller, can fold, and looks a lot better IMO.

The Shockwave is alot nicer set up than the SB47. I think you can just pull the brace off the tube and mount the shockwave on it.

Well I'm in the minority I guess...I took my Shockwave OFF because I did not like how it feels against the.....ummm.....well.....never mind....so I cut down an SB to be narrower like the SBX and installed with hairspray on the tube. Doesn't budge at all. Yes its more bulky but function over form for me....

The adjustable KAK tube gives you a better... forearm LOP.

I will agree that the SB47 has a better feel, and the weight isn't as big an issue on the Draco as it would be on the AR pistol.

But I've not seen any good inexpensive options to make this a folder, for $150 to $200 I can just buy a whole new setup so I'm not paying over $100 just for a hinge.

Well worth the money IMHO OP.

I live right by the US MACHINEGUN shop, and bought a PAP M92 pistol directly from them with the folding arm brace set up. It's a clear case of "Buy once, Cry once "!

ETA: I meant to say; "For me"  it was a clear case of buy once, cry once.

I was multitasking at the time of posting this, and that detail in my text got over looked.

drive out the roll pin, unscrew tube and SB.   Install KAK tube and blade.

I have the Ace parts to make it a folder built off of the SB47, but haven't had a chance to mock it up or buy a KAK yet.

I just did this with the M92 I bought.

Costs were
SHOCKWAVE BLADE PISTOL STABILIZER$36.99
KAK SHOCKWAVE TUBE $18.99
StormWerkz- Yugo M92/M85 Tapered Shim Item# SHIM-M92-01$22.00 USD
StormWerkz - Stock Folding Mechanism AR type Item# SFM-AR-01$75.00 USD

Matched the shim to the rear of the receiver, marked/drilled and tapped out the threads with 10-32. Then mounted the folding mechanism over the shim, blue loctite on the screws and it was all snug.

It fits great, is far less bulky and less weight on the back end.

Just my $.02
I think it was well worth it. Now to sell my SB47 kit lol.

Do any of you guys use the SOB 47 brace like this one?

Damn that looks good - how is the width profile?  The original sig brace whatever sucks!

I also removed the Sig brace and replaced it with a Shockwave.

just thinking about doing the same think except replacing the Sig brace with the new tailhook coming out.  Looking at all my options, if you want it to fold, you are better off ditching all the components of the Sig Brace although I guess you could reuse the tube if its long enough for your needs.

If you don't mind a fixed stock, you could probably reuse many of the Sig Brace parts.

Yea, gotta admit the tailhook looks pretty good. Didn't really 'get' it til I saw the video of how it works, thought it was just a rubber slip thru like the SBs.

I did some checking and the tail hook is supposed to be about $200. That seems a bit expensive. Does anyone know if it comes with ways to attach to the PAP M92 and M85 without more required parts/adapters?

I though I saw on a review that the mod 1 was $100, that one clamps on a buffer tube and has an aluminum rear brace.

The mod 2 is the one that comes with a proprietary notched buffer tube and is adjustable, and the rear brace is polymer instead of aluminum.

But I've not seen one that will directly bolt up to an AK pistol yet.

I robbed the SOB 47 off of my Draco to put on my new AR pistol until the Shockwave came in.

Now, I don't want to take it off of the AR, and really wish I'd spent the money on another one instead of the Shockwave.

I went with the shockwave, didn't worry about adding a folder.  I had to add several strips of gorrilla duct table to increase the diameter of the SB tube before adding the blade.
