Just got a new m85np that takes AR mags, took it out to the range and shot 80 rounds through it. I had several FTF, bolt would close but not chamber a round. I would rack the bolt and next round would chamber, this happened several times. I was running troy mags cause that's all I had with me. Two times bolt did not lock back, I thought well maybe it just needs to be broken in some. I had cleaned and lubed the gun prior to first shooting. I was shooting new rem and pmc 223 and noticed the brass was really scratched up. I stripped the weapon when I got home to find this ( see pics). Is this a problem, I seem to think so. Any one that has one of these pistols, does yours do this??? Also don't like the way the chamber is reamed it has a lip on the right side...any thoughts guys ???

Pics came up fine for me through the links. I'm not an AK expert or anything, so perhaps I'm missing something, but all I saw was brass shavings

Try PMAGs and lube it more than you think you should. Mine hates metal mags.

Mine will very rarely hold open on the last round. Try some cheapo steel case ammo, mine does the same thing with brass ammo!! It loves TULA or WOLF all day long.......

I've read that Lancer mags usually work well with those, that might be something you want to try as well.

Make sure there is no brass casing stuck anywhere.

I think your brass damage cause by hitting the turion, see arrow.

My Pap 85NP works great with C-products aluminum & stainless, Magpul gen1 & gen3, Lancer and hexmag. More than 240 rounds have shot without a hiccup. Make sure you have the booster muzzle brake install. Under-power ammo may cause it to not to chamber the next round.

So you think this would be solved by just changing mags ??

It's not unheard of. Same with changing ammo. Easy solutions to try out before doing something more drastic.

the m85 i shot used pmags and brass ammo with zero issues. I'd give it a shot or try steel cased ammo.

They aren't supposed to lock back on an empty mag unless the follower has a flat back to the hump.  The Yugos don't have a bolt hold open device actuated by the follower.  The bolt just catches on the follower and drops when you release the magazine.  For that reason, I never liked the Yugo mags in 7.62 and that is why a standard AR mag won't lock the bolt back on the M85NP.
