Looking at the pictures most of them look like they would be in the way of the stock. They had at least one that came off the left side but I'm not sure it was listed for these guns. That was my concern... anyone else make similar adapters that would work? Hell if I know. Other than a couple saigas these pistols are my first AK's. I bet if you contacted them they would know. Looked like decent quality stuff so I would imagine they have been around the block. |

FYI, we have had a three or four people contact us saying the Renegade did not fit their gun. After a quick consultation we figured out what the issue was....
Make sure when you remove the wood handguard you ALSO REMOVE THE METAL REINFORCEMENT ON THE BACK OF THE WOOD HANDGUARD FROM THE GUN If you don't, you are indeed going to have a hell of a time getting the Renegade forearm to fit!!!! Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

For what it is worth, when you spend months and months working with a product sometimes things seem pretty obvious, but it might not be obvious to someone who has never handled the new product! It is known as developer's myopia, and even I am guilty of it sometimes. We'll start putting a note in with the handguards so there is no more confusion in the future. I just wanted to put it here on the thread since a lot of guys who bought them were checking in here! FYI, if you ever have an issue with installation of any of our products, please feel free to email us at [email protected] and we will find a solution to whatever issue you are having! If you are running the polymer lower only, it is actually lighter than the OEM setup. |

You would not want to use the optics mount top plate in its current form with a standard wood lower. Technically it would fit, be it would look, quite honestly, not good. The light mount shown in previous pictures attaches to the ARC LOK slots on the upper right side of the handguard. It will not mount unless there are slots avaliable. The easy solution for both problems, of course, is just get the Renegade polymer lower and it will all mount up and look good. |

Do you have a price in mind for the simple top cover for us guys that don't plan to mount a red dot? The lower handguard looks great, but really looks un-finished with no cover.
I am going to buy yours or brand X, and I am trying to keep overall cost down. Thanks, and I understand if it is too early to give a rough number. |

I modified a cheap ak handguard from ebay by removing about 2mm of aluminum off the rear of the lower with a disc sander and re-beveled the edges with a file. I used some Birchwood-Casey aluminum black to touch up the raw aluminum after I was done. all in all it cost about $40 and looks great, mounts solid as a rock, just like the midwest industries mount. http://i415.photobucket.com/albums/pp238/jeffbeaux/m922.jpghttp://i415.photobucket.com/albums/pp238/jeffbeaux/m921.jpg

I'm just giving you a hard time Sven.....I know you guys are working overtime and have lives and families outside of work just like the rest of us.
Besides, from the start of this thread to the time you got the Renegade fore arms out has been moving at light speed in terms of design, manufacturing, and production of anything firearms related... |

View Quote Thanks for understanding. We just keep growing and growing, and I only post pictures of a small fraction of the work we actually do. In addition to keeping the current stuff in stock, doing some OEM work (i.e. the AUG bipod and some other projects), and getting some new Tavor products ready to roll out we are also coordinating and managing the Bullpup Shoot 2014 event. Oh yeah, and working on getting product exported to some new foreign distributors we are working on setting up, working on a joint AK aluminum forearm project with AK Operators Union, and working with a local Sherrif's office to help develop some new products for their needs, and....well, you get the idea! In point of fact I keep telling my new wife that there just isn't time to take a honeymoon this summer, but it appears that is just not going to fly. I may be forced to go on a trip here real soon. |
|
[#33]
LOL...
Some fights aren't worth even trying to fight. If the wife wants a honeymoon, best bet is to just roll with it. You might be able to delay it somewhat by telling her that you'll be able to spend more time together next year when you have more time available, and will be able to take a longer honeymoon if she can wait a little. Or she can have a short but fun honey moon this year.... Of course, you HAVE to deliver a fantastic honeymoon next year if she goes for it....just understand that, and start planning now. As much as I want the newest and greatest Manticore Arms products, your family comes first. |

Qe do have some ideas for one that works with the standard wood handguard, but it would be the same cost or more than an Ultimak, so I don't know if there is much of a market for it... It would be Great if there were a Top Cover that had a provision to mount a picatinny rail. I have my Aimpoint Micro on a QD American Defense mount that I use on my FAL but would love to just be able to attach to the top cover of my Manticore handguard. I do realize this would prevent any co-witness but I am not really interested in that if the mount is quick detach.
