Thanks. It was a new gun, I switched the wooden handguards for the E. German bakelite, removed the muzzle nut and put the slant cut brake on and added the sling. I like the look.

I decided to refinish the original wood rather than go with new AKM furniture. I've ordered both a wood grip (that I'll stain) and an orange plastic one that I'll choose between once I see how they look. I added the cleaning rod and will attach an old-school canvas sling as soon as Parallax gets more sling plates in stock. Obviously the Bakelite mag was an add-on as well. Just a proud poppa showing off his kids if i may ask, whats the overall length of the black draco?? it looks long as hell with that muzzle brake on it...... |

In the pic the black one looks a lot bigger but it really isn't. |

Have you shot it yet? I am curious about how bad that stock beats you up when you shoot. I have a CTR to put on mine, but have been thinking of getting a DPH instead. |

In fact I cheated for this photo and just laid the stock behind it- I haven't drilled the rear trunnion for the stock yet because I haven't permanently attached the barrel extension and brake yet (waiting on silver solder). My Draco is still a pistol. I've had a few AKs with Ace stocks, including 2 Saiga 12s. The DPH stock shouldn't be any worse on the shoulder than an Ace stock, as they both have an aluminum buttplate. Neither should be any worse than a CTR, as it doesn't have padding either. |

Looks awesome Treetop.
Aperdue, the stock doesn't beat you up any more than any other stock will. If you've got tender shoulders, they make recoil pads for them. |

The safety was Dragunovluv's brothers own custom modification. The last one Dragunlov posted with laminate furniture has the Krebs saftey on it. I might be getting this one as well. I like how the lower wood came out as well but it might get replaced by the Ultimak lower rail. The stock will be repaced by a CTR once it gets here. |

I wonder what his brother would charge to just make me a safety like that? I'm sure I could make something myself that would be functionally equivalent but it sure wouldn't look that pretty |

These are the factory Romarm pieces (unfinished). I'd like to stain/burn/finish them to be more like the one above. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/231035_10150156197615904_660105903_6951479_5147560_n.jpg Compared to the all-metal look: http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/196547_10150095179595904_660105903_6619929_5526143_n.jpg I like both looks. Hell, I should just buy another Draco and make a friggin rifle out of it. The lower handguard is a Romy Laminated set in the one you chose a picture of. The one I just posted with the LH Bolt is romy standard wood (Non Laminated) Both sets he takes a propane torch to burn the wood, then applies satin minwax spray on polyurethane (It brings the grain depth and color out), no stain, just a torch and keep it moving. Heres 2 he did torching on as well but also stained them. |
