Does anyone have a source for chrome lined RPK barrels for my Romanian build? Apex only has US made non-chrome.

Green Mountain lists theirs with a chromed chamber and bore. Fits Romys according to the Compatibility Chart.

A 9mm might expand to .45, but a .45 will never shrink to 9mm.

Unless they have fixed their barrels, Green Mountain RPK barrels had undersized RSB and FSB barrel journals. It is possible to correct the problem by light knurling, but some people do not want to do this.

That said, I bought and built a rifle using the GM barrel. I have no issues with the barrel's performance.

Yes, I did. I knurled the RSB journal about .006" overall and the FSB .001". I did it with a sharp punch and hammer.

Dang, .006" seems like an awful lot!

I guess its a choice between a chrome lined bore or properly sized journals.
