I'm in for at least one.  It looks like something I might be able to use to modify my Arsenal flashlight handguard to fit my AKS-74U as well as filling the Gap of Doom on other handguards.  I understand the fitting issue as well...the same AKS-74U has been a PITA to fit any type furniture to it.

EDIT:  Andy, when you put it in place do you recommend anything to secure it, or do you just shave, if necessary, material off to get a snug fit in the gap?

Wow. Keymod looks nice. Got an idea for the VEPR version, or full length version. Could also apply to others like Saiga. either keymod or SS. Instead of a top cover run two fillet panels along the gas tube. one on each side using the existing top cover mount holes. Folk who like the clean gas tube look and don't need a rail up there would be satisfied.

PS think of it as filling the gap of gas

Is there a possibility of a hand guard top cover without a rail?  Thank you, looks like an awesome product.

Troy and Andy, I like what you guys are doing and already own several of your very well made rails.  You can not please all the people all the time.  Keep on putting out great products and we will keep on buying them.

I like the plug, and keeping the weight down.....folks who put a lot of rounds through their guns usually do.  Well done.

Just wanted to say thanks to Andy from MI.   The customer service at Midwest was excellent in answering all my questions and I am very impressed with the AK keymod handguard & doom plate I received the other day.  The shipping was super fast and the handguard appears to be in line with the other high quality products they offer.  I will be mounting a T-1 and AFG2 to it asap for some field testing, hopefully keymod accessories keep coming to market with increasing frequency so impatient people like myself don't have to frankenstein their stuff to fit.

I know youre probably very busy with SHOT but i gotta ask...are there any plans to manufacture an extended yugo model in the near future?  If so i will wait but i am told damage industries is releasing a yugo rail handguard soon.  I am trying to get my support hand out in front of the gas block and would love to get your extended handguard.

These hand guards look great.  I really like the rail-less sides. Any chance that these will work with Saiga 7.62 x 39 without forward hand guard cap?

TIA.

**Update with pics**

Finally got some time to make it out to the range for pic's.  Solid lockup with the rifle and zero change in poi after a few hundred rounds.  Shooting at a pretty quick pace it started to get a little warm around 200 rounds.  If I were shooting full auto I would probably put some gloves on after the 4th or 5th mag dump.  Other than the increase in heat (which I was expecting) no issues at all.  I will try to get some action shots next time I bring it to training.

I had one on my n-pap, top rail is a bit short, other than that it was good to go. Not sure if they would sell just the top section for the yugo rail... Anyways I refinished my wood grips and put them back on so my key mod is on the bench for now.

Good afternoon, was looking at your site to order the AK Receiver plate today but when I place the order am not able to get a total cost as all shipping methods are listed as TBD.  Would it be possible to know how much shipping would be for the item?  I am going to order the rail through a distributor I have access to but it appears no one carries the receiver plate but your site.

Thank you

seriously MI I hate you guys so bad right now...I have a stupid amount of Aks that are sporting your rails and I already had to go from the shorts to the long rails on over half of them..now I can't stop thinking key mods for some of the flock.. Makes me sad happy... thanks for the great products for our beloved aks..

Can I also throw out a product request for your company? Can you guys maybe help out the Styer Aug community with a rail+side rail that replaces the folder grip? Styer has a version but a extended lower rail for bipods would be amazing...just a thought.. Thanks again

Will this handguard fit the original top covers? If so could you make the bottom handguard available separately with no top cover?
