THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
The long awaited X model AK hand guards are on the web site. FDE and O.D will ship late next week . Black is ready to rock. Please remember you must trim the sling loop off the front hand guard cap due to the slim profile.
here is a link, I know it wont be hot. sorry

Interesting 30mm side mount in the center pic. Something new?

Troy - in the Industry Forum - in the Midwest Industries section - in the thread initiated by me regarding longer bottom rails - at the bottom of the first page I posted the desire to have a "slick" rail that goes out past the gas block so we won't get our hands burned. (That is why Travis Halley wears a thick glove on his left hand when running an AK.) I *thought* you implied you were working on this very thing - that it had been put down on paper.

Was I wrong in thinking that you were working on this? (I hope not.)

cheers

We are working on another hand guard. The long version of that hand guard will be 9.5 inches long. The AFG2 style grips work great on a hand guard this long .
Thanks

I'd love to see a pic of this on a Draco. Do you have one lying around, Troy?

Any reason this wouldn't work on a Saiga, with the Saiga specific topcover?

Any idea as to how well this would work w/ a AKMS underfolding stock?

i.e. would the stock still be able to close fully?

Troy,

With the timeframe you stated are you looking at selling them prior to Christmas? I have a SGL 31-62 on the way, and an Aimpoint PRO that just arrived. The last piece I need is your 30mm mount for the PRO .

This rail looks awesome, and I would totally buy another AK just for this setup, but hacking off the sling loop is the one deal breaker for me. Kinda bummed out there isn't a small slot like on the old Surefire M83.

Might try and convince myself into buying another CAI WASR and butchering it for this purpose.

If your a purist of the AK these may not be for you. If you are a purist our new model we will be coming out with wont be for you either. Only you can determine if its what you want . Its just like installing a free float on a AR certain things just require a little modification sure seems like alot of guys are willing to make the improvement by the way they are selling .
thanks
