It's definitely an expensive rig.

Alright, great review! Thank you for that. My opinion; I know some body armor is better than none, but I feel that the armor doesn't cover enough critical area. Too much upper torso exposed. Again, something is better than nothing, I just don't know if it's worth the added cost to an already expensive rig.

I agree 100% for the price level it falls miserably short of anyone needing a true carrier or protection. This might be ok for the folks on Natgeo but for a actual operator or LEO this is definitly not anything close to being able to offer enough protection for any department or civilian company that I know of. I would put this in the category of novelties and I want to impress my shooting buddies type of stuff. For the price point one can purchase quite a few systems that are adaptable to the AK platform and offer the ability for true protection front and rear of the vital areas. I dont know but maybe I am missing the point here I usually do when it comes to US Palm and SCG.

+1. You have to wear it up high to maximize the effectiveness of the soft armor, and even then it barely covers the vitals. Not the mention, the back is not protected. A rifle round would most likely rip right through you, especially .30 caliber rounds. I understand that it's lighter weight and tacticool, but not very practical.

Body armor is only good if someone is shooting at the center of the body.....Head , upper arms, and upper legs are fine POA for a deliberate skilled shooter....I think this vest is for toting extra mags and for that tacticool look.

It's a chest rig....U.S.Palm enhansed it with a body armor package as an option. Maybe its just me but most (if not all) chest rigs offer NO protection so this gives you something you get from no other rig. You guys seem to fixate on the body armor when the chest rig is the point of the exercise....and they did a very good job with it.

What's funny about this ad? You can ware this vest and have loaded firearms in National parks and wildlife refuges thanks to Obama. In May 2009, President Obama actually signed a measure allowing Americans to carry guns in national parks into law.

I've been tossing around the idea of this but for $20 more, I could get the desert Tracker and have full coverage with plates.

Yes, and just this past Tuesday he called for a renewal of the Assault Weapons Ban! How gun friendly do you think he'll be if he's elected to a second term and no longer has to worry about fooling guys like you into voting for him?

With a new AWB in place, it'll be a lot harder to fish 10 rd. mags out of this rig than 30 rd. mags. Who knows, maybe he'd limit mags to 5 rds...or 3 rds. After all, who needs more than 3 rd. mags to hunt?
