I am waiting for more surplus ammo to come in before i make any other 74 purchases. If that happens i would love to add to my current collection if it would be priced sub $700.

Not a big AK guy even though I have 4. I like the underfolders because they are compact. I dont have any problems shooting them but I do think side folders are better.

I would like one also.

I agree, an AK74 under folder would only appeal to a small market initially. I feel, given the current situation, most "unprepared" investors will likely go with something more traditional/practical, not saying the AK74 and/or under folder isn't practical... It indeed has its place. However, this cuts down your potential sales to new gun buyers and/or buyers on a limited budget.

The more savvy gun buyer may have interest, especially if they are already invested in the 5.45x39mm caliber/magazines, but you will most likely get a hit or miss sales report since we (the gun community) all have different tastes and opinions geared towards what we deem a necessary/practical weapon to add to our arsenal. Again, those with a lot of disposable income may take a shot in the dark on a weapon that triggers their interest.

All that being said, I would suggest you manufacture a limited number (if financially feasible/reasonable) as I personally see the gun becoming a great investment, likely to soar in the coming years. For one, a well made AK variant requires little maintenance and is user friendly. This will speak wonders to newcomers, women and people who appreciate reliability and practicality. The 5.45x39 is also a great "military style" rifle to start someone out on, its extremely manageable recoil and inexpensive ammunition make it a shoe-in in terms of cost effective plinking rifle with underrated ballistic appeal. However, all these things can be had with a traditional AK74 (without an under folder).

I personally see the AK74 under folder as a cache rifle, potential truck rifle (although I'd prefer the 7.62x39) and a foot travel rifle. The upside to a under folder is its compact and lightweight design. Combine that with the small 5.45 caliber and you have a lightweight/compact rifle with lightweight/far reaching ammunition that you can carry 2-to-1 against any .30 caliber rifle. I think the real obstacle is introducing it at a competitive price. Would I buy one? …Of course.

Sorry for the long read, just felt like writing tonight I guess.

Yep, side folder with 14.5" barrel and 1.5" flash hider.

Or just make both under folding and side folding stocks with the same attachment lug to give customers a choice between the two. ( or order both folding methods)

I would give my left nut for an underfolder.

Then you should build a 74 drum mag.

Milled M70 would be complete tits.  Im looking at getting into 5.45 aswell, and Ive never shot an underfolder.... but gah they have a bad rep =/... people like me who have to read/watch 1000 reviews before they can decide on buying something might not like an underfolder....

however..as per previously stated by another poster...  a 74, stamped, with UF stock would be awesome for a light/infantry fighter set-up...one could carry that for days...  if you make it with a hammer forged/chrome lined barrel (since thats all anyone seems to care about with AK's) it will sell...  I'd more than likely buy one with those specs at the sub $650-700 mark.

You will sell more with a triangle side-folder tho...just saying..people tend to love them sh!ts.

I want an underfolder.  I have not decided on caliber, but if the price is right I would want one.

I posted back in July of '12. I upped my ammo stash and also up my buy in price of something like this to $775. That's about tops for me.

I think a reasonably priced milled under-folder in 5.56 would sell well.  I have an interest in a good AK 5.56 because I am not a fan of the AR DI and their inability to usually handle steel ammo.  Who knows what the availibility of 5.45 in the future is another reason for a 5.56.

I would definitely be a player for an under folder. Classic look! keep me in the loop.

I want the Milled M70. NoDak Spud has plenty of under folder '74 receivers. Cool idea, but not practical. I have 6 Hungarian under folder trunnions w/folders that are worthless right now. I made a few SA-85M clones and made the rest AK63F Military versions. Under folders look really cool, but shoot awful.

Bring on the Milled Yugo M70s, just don't price yourself out of the Market. I am NOT a Century gun owner. I went to the local gun store and was impressed with some of CAI's new rifles. Q.C. is improved and prices are down. Just my .02.

That being said,  I do like my Bulgarian underfolder.  It might like a little brother.

I like it. Build it with an integrated 24mm FSB/GB where it can be SBR'd.
