Which is almost identical to the FAL rear sling swivel.
I've inletted plenty of stocks, the 870 Remington for one, to take the FAL rear sling. Recessed, it's just a 1/2" bore for the swivel portion, and a 1/2 x 1-1/2" pass to inlet the plate.
Now if you made a corresponding back plate for it, threaded for 2 #8x32 machine screws, it could be used on synthetic stocks as well. Just thinking here . . .
I just installed a number of the recessed cylinders for the Uncle mike sling mount, for some bolt action rifles. The shortcoming of that mount, is that the screw goes under the sling loop, so I need a lot more depth. At least an inch for 1/2" of screw and 1/2" of the cylinder. - doesn't work very well on narrow forearms. But this one, with the screws on the sides, allows for much shorter screws and increases its utility dramatically.
