I am thinking of acquiring one on a local for sale board. This gun was modified to take a buffer tube and AR stock I am okay with this. Apparently they don't come with optics rails do to the underfolder I was just wondering if it's possible to add one? If not ow well do the Texas Weapon Systems Dogleg rails work? I am wanting to add a PA scope to it. Also curious to know how AK 7.62 surplus mag availability is or if PMAGs are the most affordable and reliable option.

AK mags are a dine a dozen and can be had cheaply. I check AIM and a few other places for deals. You can also add a bolt hold open follower really easy and new springs are simple to install. PMAGS cost more than surplus steel mags and had a real problem with feed lips breaking. Especially here in Alaska
