My Archer in Beryl form

Very nice! How is it working for you?

It's been flawless!!! It's the best AK i have ever owned!!! I have yet to put it on paper to see if it shoots 1" at 100yds but it will bust broken clays at around 75yds so it's accurate. All 5 surplus mags fit well with no wobble, and it has very little recoil. the only down side is it's a bit on the heavy side in full Beryl gear.

Beryl is not light, that is true. Even my Mini Beryl is a boat anchor. But I have also HK MR223 to remember they make heavier 5.56 ;)

And how do you feel about the value. Was it worth price tag?

lol Thats true!! I've played with a MR556 a few times, it gives the HK91a3 a run for its money in weight!!! I think the Archer is well worth it! Great fit & finish, AR accuracy and AK reliability for under a $1k. Now I just wished I could find the night sights and complete HG rail set

Bought a archer from IO, fit and form its ok. Bottom fact polish military byerl mags will not lock up into the gun. The mag well is so tite the green mag fits only after lots of mag well  shaving. The Black Military mags are a huge no go with the steel feed lips. It catches in the back by the mag catch. Bulgainan 223 mags are Super no go. Chinies 223, East German mags are a no go as well. IO response they will send me a shipping tag to send it back to them to open up the mag well. 5 weeks and I hear nothing from them , after giving them my name adress phone # and email. I called back after no one answerd. I left a message with my phone # no one ever called. My friend bought one too same problem with the rifle. He sold his off.  If you want a gun where you can change mags Dont get one of thies 1 offs. Get a Arsenal or other so you can change mags. I have lots of other AKs this is the worst to try to get a mag in and out of. Sad i have a poly tec 56-s almost any ak mag works great in it, and the person that made it was making Rice and pocket change. IO what a sad excuse. My plans is to sell it off and buy a siaga, vepr or a arsenal 106.

Here are some pictures of my new Archer in Beryl Format.  What do you guys think?

That looks awesome. Too bad IO does not sell them that way.

Where did you get the new Polish grip, and the rail? I can't find them anywhere.

I've had the rail for over two years, since I've been collecting parts to build a Beryl clone.  The pistol grip is a CAA ergonomic AK grip from MidwayUSA.

Sweet rifle!

I am hoping this is my week for mine! Any personal thoughts?

I love the look, but man this thing is heavy with the optics and rail.  I wouldn't want to carry it that way in combat.

Those optics look really tall. How's that cheek weld?

Our troops carry them this way (except for magnifier) and there are no complaints about it being too heavy.

What cheek weld!  It's absent.  The buttstock needs a cheek riser.  I'll probably end up shooting it without the optics, since I get a good cheek minus the optics.

Hey what did you have to do to replace the factory brake it came with? I'm thinking about getting one since I don't have an ak at the moment and the Archer looks like it would fit the bill for what I am looking for . Where in OK are you? I'm in Moore off 19th street.

The later imports have the new brake.

Hey home_alone1 check your IM box as I sent you a message.  I don't live very far from you.  I would be happy to let you look at the gun sometime.

has anybody heard anything about the "version 2" Archers being imported still or at all for that matter?  All I'm seeing is original model

I'm glad you got it before the ban.  Please post some pics of yours.  Would like to be able to tell the current version apart from the older version.  Leaning towards this over the SLR-106 but didn't care for the way the muzzle was threaded on the older Archer.

Here is the latest for my archer.  It's a real Beryl quad rail and vertical grip all the way from Poland.  What do you think?

Here is a close up of the rail.  It's a quality piece.
