THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I've got a century tantal and when you take the muzzle device off there is an un-threaded portion of the barrel after the muzzle threads. What is this for? Is it to center the break?

Just a guess but since the muzzle brake also doubles as a grenade launcher, the extra barrel length could help support the grenade with less stress on the threads.

It is a groove for a quick attach bi pod.

No what I am talking about is at the very end of the barrel, under the grenade launcher/muzzle break.
