THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I bought Polish AKMS underfolder from atlantic firearms, The brand is Centruy Arms (I think I should've avoid that brand) But I read rumors about them having build problems with their AK's, Did they fix the issue or is this a "random hope you get good batch" ak-47?

Once I receive my akms what maintenance and stuff should I check on the AKMS?

I have so many questions but I am just really overwhelmed, So I will just stick with these questions for now.

Thanks in advance!

Don't spend any time worrying about problems you don't have.
If it turns out that something is wrong with the rifle (which is less likely than anyone reading gunboards would think) Atlantic and/or Century will make it right.

When the rifle arrives look it over. If there's nothing obviously wrong with it, clean it throughly, lubricate it and have fun shooting it.

What should/shouldn't I lubricate and what type of lubricate should I use?

I lubricate all parts which rotate or slide on another part EXCEPT the piston, piston tube and gas block (since lubricant there will go up in smoke when the rifle is fired).
You can use almost any oil. Automatic transmission fluid works as does light weight motor oil. Of course, any good oil made for firearms will work well.
No need to overdo lubricating. A thin film is enough and any excess will end up on the bottom or sides of the receiver.

Just check for canted sights and headspacing. Then cycle the bolt a few times to see if anything is rubbing on it.

What required maintenance do I need to do to my AKMS before I shoot it for the first time?

I checked the ammunition section but I am so overwhelmed on what ammo is good as in functions and accuracy.

Clean it throughly and lubricate it before shooting.

I've found Golden Tiger to be good Russian commercial ammunition. For blasting any of the Russian made cartridges will do. Don't buy a large quantity of HP or SP until you've tried some first.
Yugoslavian made surplus is good, but it is corrosively primed.

I got one this past weekend and am pleased with it. It shot good the other day when I shot it. I was able to check it out before I bought it but really all the other ones on the table looked good as well. It's a mix parts gun which is OK with me, I've had many a #'s matching gun not shoot worth a damn.

Comrades, do your Polish CAI-built AKMSs exhibit loose butt assemblies when these are locked extended?

I handled one at a local fun show and its butt swayed a good deal up-'n-down.

If'n I could find a tight one I'd like to take it home with me.

Mine does have some play in it up and down. The uncomfitable metal buttstock bothers me more than that though. I've been looking for a way to cover it with something but haven't found anything yet.

Picked up a new Polish AKMS last Saturday and finally got it out to shoot today. Once I got it sighted in, it did very well (it's probably more accurate than I am, and the AK style sights are going to take some practice). Not a single malfunction through 120rnds and 4 different magazines. All in all, very glad I got it.

The only thing is, even though the front sight does not appear to be canted, I had to crank it quite a bit to the left to get it zeroed. Is this normal for AK's, is it just me, or is my front sight likely canted?

Canted barrel parts, especially the front sight, seem to really drive people crazy for good reason. If you have a hydraulic press, you can press out the pins that hold the FSB to the barrel & press off the FSB. Using a metal straight edge, you can realign the FSB to the RSB & press the FSB back on straight. You may have to redrill the pin holes to get the locking pins back in, but that should fix your canted sight problem. The Polish PMKMS underfolders are very nice rifles, just lube them, shoot them, clean them well & you will have a rifle that should never let you down!

You can tighten the folding stock if needed to remove/decrease movement. Probably just a lazy Century contractor.
PM me if you need help with that as I built one from a kit so I know the ins and outs.

My CAI built AKMS UF is a great gun my only problem was I had to crank the front sight all the way to the left as well even though it does not appear to have a canted sight. I've run over 600 flawless rounds through it with 8 different mags my first month of ownership.

Most canted AK front sights can be fixed w/ a good solidly mounted vice, some wood blocks to hold the barrel steady and unmarred in the vice and a moderately heavy hammer.
There is s tutorial w/ pix on u tube- do a search.
In a nutshell, you remove upper and lower handguards, cleaning rod and guts (bolt and carrier) out of receiver, lock barrel close to front sight base in wood blocks in the vice and moderately hard hit front sight base on sight protector in direction that you want front sight base to go IOT center the sight.
Ck often and either "eyeball" the sight or get a boresight like guy on u tube.
I've done it on a Maadi. It works. Was way canted almost to point of no windage zero @ 25m, now centered.
