My first WASR-10. I just got her yesterday and I am VERY happy about it. Haven't gone to fire it yet but....in due time.

I like the color on the wood and would like to keep it that way just want to sand her down and finish it more nicely. Any suggestions. I'll continue browsing through these posts but as there are quite a few it's a daunting task.

Thank you once again, sir.

The "lightweight" ribbed mags were introduced with the Type 3, so that's why I used those.

I agree that the slabsides look great, but I went for "correctness".

I thought the "slab-side" mags (Type I), were issued with Type I, II and III rifles? Later, the 3 rib design came afterwards. No?

The same Savior that said, "turn the other cheek" also said, "Luke 22:36 ...and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." There is only one use for a sword. The same applies to a 1911 Colt. - Old_Painless

Vector/Polish UF stock. Butt pad is replica (rubber insert) I saw on a thread here about 6 mos. ago. Sent away for it (about $20 IIRC) and IT WORKS! Well worth $$$ IMHO.

Hey good news I think I found that butt pad you like. I am pretty postive but let me know. Below is the link to the site where it is and I included the pic they have. I was online looking for tactical slings and came acroos the butt pad and remember you talking about it. You can get it with out the strip.

Is there some FRACKING reason why Arsenal has apparently stopped manufacturing any rifles in 5.56?

Apparently, there was a lack of demand. They may reconsider, due to the ammo issues and current demand for them. Let's hope.
