What was that place that had all the Russian furnature and the deactivated AKs and everything? I think it was in England or something. I wanted to get some Russian furnature from them but I cant remember what the site was..anyone know what I'm talking about?

They had a bunch of deactivated AKs like AK74s, PKMs, GP30s, etc. It was a foreign shop because it said they couldnt be imported to the US because of the ATF. Anyone know?

THANK YOU!

Is it legal to have them ship furnature/slings/30 round mags to the US? I'd like to pick up some Russian pistol grips, one of their Russian slings, and maybe a bakelite 7.62x39 or slabside mag...

Yes, as long as the declared value is <$100.

Yes, as long as the declared value is <$100.

So I've gotta order over $100 of stuff or they cant ship? And THEN get hit with shipping? Dang

Can anyone update the links to reflect the archived pages? Looks like a lot of good information, and don't want to post a bunch of dumb questions in the main forum if the info is archived some place else.

The problem is regular members being able to access the archived threads.

Just for reference, the list of parts necessary to comply with 18 USC 922r may be found at 22 CFR 178, conveniently set forth at:

http://www.atf.treas.gov/regulations/27cfr178.html

Scroll down to Section 178.39.

Why the difference in parts lists?

1: From TITLE 27--ALCOHOL, TOBACCO PRODUCTS AND FIREARMS

(c) For purposes of this section, the term imported parts are:

(1) Frames, receivers, receiver castings, forgings or stampings
(2) Barrels
(3) Barrel extensions
(4) Mounting blocks (trunions)
(5) Muzzle attachments
(6) Bolts
(7) Bolt carriers
(8) Operating rods
(9) Gas pistons
(10) Trigger housings
(11) Triggers
(12) Hammers
(13) Sears
(14) Disconnectors
(15) Buttstocks
(16) Pistol grips
(17) Forearms, handguards
(18) Magazine bodies
(19) Followers
(20) Floorplates

2: Arfcom archives, Jeepcreep [Site Staff]: parts that need to be replaced to be 922r compliant

OK, this is probably one of THE most asked questions: What are the parts that need to be replaced to be 922r compliant?

(1) Frames, receivers, receiver castings, forgings or
stampings
(2) Barrels
(3) Mounting blocks (trunions)
(4)*Muzzle attachments
(5) Bolts
(6) Bolt carriers
(7) Gas pistons
(8) Triggers
(9) Hammers
(10) Disconnectors
(11) Buttstocks
(12) Pistol grips
(13) Forearm handguards
(14) Magazine body
(15) Followers
(16) Floorplates

An gun can contain no more that 10 "imported" parts.

The floorplate and follower count as one part each. Both handguards count as 1 part, the pistol grip counts as 1, as well as the stock is 1. By replacing the FCG with an American made version this counts as 3 parts replacement.

Post subject: AK U.S. Parts Count for 922r Compliance

The 16 countable parts of an AK rifle. No more than 10 of these parts may be imported.

(1) Receiver*
(2) Barrel
(3) Trunnion
(4) Muzzle attachments(flash hiders, brakes, barrel extensions, barrel nuts)*
(5) Bolt
(6) Bolt carrier
(7) Gas piston*
(8) Trigger*
(9) Hammer*
(10) Disconnecter*
(11) Buttstock*
(12) Pistol grip*
(13) Forearm handguards*
(14) Magazine body
(15) Follower
(16) Floorplate

The parts with the * are the most commonly available U.S. manufactured parts.

On a typical stamped receiver rifle you need to replace 5 parts with no muzzle attachment and 6 parts with a muzzle attachment.

On a typical milled recevier rifle you need to replace 4 parts with no muzzle attachment and 5 parts with a muzzle attachment, because there isn't a barrel trunion, it is part of the receiver.

When building an AK pistol, these regulations do not apply. You can not have a stock or forward pistol grip on a pistol.

The "Link" for the FAQ "How do I remove the Upper or forward hand guards doesn't work...
So, I'll re-phrase...

1.) How does one remove remove the Forward Yugo "Krink" hand guards?

2.) Who makes a 4 piece "Shot-Glass" flash suppressor for the "Yugo" Krinks?
(7.62x39) (Threads are slightly larger than the Standard "Krinks"...)

Thanks all,

E!

Many folks had bad experiences with them when ordering (wrong item, misplaced orders, etc.). And priceis a bit high. Their ordering service often leaves a lot to be desired. But if you're in AZ and visit them at the shows, there's never a problem and they have a lot of rare parts.

Another FAQ is "What does the P/П stand for on the rear leaf/sight

P/П as seen on some models of AK is literally translated from Russian as "Straight Shot" and corresponds to a range of 350m.

прямой выстрел - Straight Shot

Source

Translated
AK sighting device consists of a sight and foresight.
Sight - sector type, with the location of the sighting block in the middle of the weapons. The sight is scaled up to 800 m (from AKM - up to 1000 m) with a spacing of 100 m, in addition to it there is division, marked by the letter "P" denotes a straight shot and a corresponding range of 350 m lies entirely on Grivko sight and has a rectangular slotform [4].
The front sight is located at the muzzle of the barrel, on a massive triangular base,"wings" of which it is nestled on the sides. At the time of bringing the machine to a normal battle you can fly to screw / unscrew to increase / decrease of the mean point of impact, and move left / right to reject the mean point of impact horizontally. [4]
On some modifications of the AK, if necessary or possible to install an optical night sight on the side arm

I browsed the FAQ list and I didn't see anything about stamped vs. milled. This is probably a dumb question but I got my AKS in 1987 after graduating from Basic and I just shot the heck out of it for all of these years in its stock condition. It is a Norinco side folder just like this:

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_4_93/147781_Norinco_Type_56S_2_side_folder.html

and I want to change out the stock but I need to know if it is stamped or milled in order to get the right one and to be honest with you I have zero idea how to tell the difference.

Thanks for your help!
