Here is a pic of a Bulgarian AR-M1F clone built using a Armory receiver. Notice the dimples, when finished they do not appear "as big" as they do in the white.

jnewt, any chance you will be stocking these 1mm Armory receivers like you did with the OOW receivers?

good review.
I reviewed the Global Trades/Armory USA and the Eubanks over a month ago
HERE ON GUNCO

Also, the price on the GT/Armory receiver drops to only $45 each if you buy 23 or more of them.
I know because I bought 27 of them. Here is a picture of some of them.

Wow thats a lot of receivers

I'll have to agree with jnewt, the dimples don't look so obviously "different" on a finished AK.

I do notice that the X and Y indents are not so pronounced on the GT / Armory receivers when compared to say a SAR-1. but I guess they are better than no X or Y indents at all ( OOW ).

If you look at close-up pictures of AKM / AK74 receiver production over the years, there have been a lot of slight variations in dimples, X & Y stampings, etc. Even among Russian produced AKM's. Example: in Masami Tokoi's AK book, compare the dimples on the 1976 Ishevsk AKM to the 1977 Tula AKMS, Pages 18 thru 21.

Great review. I guess I will be buying a few of these Global receivers. I knew I had to do something after trying to fit a RSA retainer into an OOW. I'm still pissed and it's been about 3 months!! I kind of figured it was an out of spec POS.

You got some money??
There is only one US manufacturer of a Milled AK receiver.
That is Firing Line. They start out at $350 each. Hell I could buy ALOT of stamped receivers.
There are already plenty of built guns built on them.

The main reason these reviews were done was to compare known receivers with the NEW ones that were coming onto the market.

I just got 2 of the Armory 1mm 7.62 parkerized receivers and they are VERY nice. I Couldn't be happier.

one of them I will be filing the form 1 to do a SBR Yugo Krinkov rifle.
