Hi guys, looking for some insite. What are your opinions of a C39-V2? I'm not very knowledgeable on AK's. I always told myself if I found one for a very good price and it was close by I'd pick it up otherwise I'm not on the hunt for one. So, long story short I know someone that wants to trade with me for a C39-V2 (it's supposed to be NIB). The item on my end is worth less than the going price of what I see these milled AKs going for on gunbroker. Is this a good AK? I shot my AR's fairly often, but I could see myself trying something new.  If it turns out that I don't like the C39-V2 could I at least sell it and get a decent buck for this kind of milled American made AK?

Well, here's the AKOU review.  Century isn't my first or second choice (prefer DDI or Arsenal) but if the price is right...  No rail is an issue for me - might not be for you or others.

Thanks smich! I was doing some research on line and it appears to me that most people whom just enjoy shooting an AK think it's a great rifle. Those whom might be considered AK purists are not happy with it. Options like the bayo attachment and cleaning rod aren't feature I think I'll need immediately in an AK platform. Still seems like a love it or hate it type of thing.

It's a trade so I really don't have a choice.

However, though I'm not an AK guy that is one variant that I've heard isn't very good.

Those were the old days. The current WASRs are much better.

As to the C39v2 - it's not perfect, and there are a few things you should keep an eye on if you get it, but it's a perfectly satisfactory rifle for the far majority of people. A lot of negative things are said about them simply because they're made by Century, but I rarely hear complaints from actual owners. People who buy them seem to really like them.
