Did you take sandpaper to the finish of your rifle? The dust cover was brought back from Kosovo years ago by a friend and is well worn, the rest is wear that looks worse in photos than it does in the metal. |

[#3]
Steel wool or fine scotch brite would make the receiver wear match the dust cover a lot better.

Who made those? I might like a set... Or are those Bulgarian/Russian Krink? It's not an M92. Looks a little different now (different muzzle device, Tula rolled edge stock) but essentially the same: |

so bored....so much time.....maybe I went overboard..... Complete with Afghan rugs!
-SAR-1 AK -Chinese Grip -Manticore stock and ACE folder block with a stormwerkz hinge -masonry rope with concrete still on it, wrapped on the grip -transparent green tape from tape brothers, online. -Russian Slabside, gunshow. Russian Bakelite, classicfirearms.com -Tassels, gems....Jo-Ann Fabrics....that was an awkward visit...I was way too excited to find tassels and shit for those women to handle. -Fabric on the HG and Stock.....ripped up a new shirt from Urban outfitters....awaiting a Shemagh from my buddy, but this horrendously ugly shirt is working for me lol -No Russia pin...drawer at work. -grenade pin on the cleaning rod AKA child whipping stick -Sling...Stole off my Russian SKS until my used one from Ukraine gets here -all wrighting is legit as I can make it. Mags say "hope". top cover says "allah is willing", stock says "peace be upon him" |

I toned it down. I want to carve the stock some. Not done yet.

NICE. i like the bullet head in there.
I redid mine a bit more, Carved up the handgaurds and cracked them a bit. looks much better. I am going to try and get a russian triangle stock and have it fit up to the stormwerkz hinge so I can weather it.

birddog, that this is AWESOME. I wish I had $900 to spend on one new. that is my fav AK config. I'd rock 74 poly stocks on mine and a red dot. oh well, maybe later.
here's my latest rendition. I FINALLY got the paki tape! I'm working on the top wood and the copper wire. I might switch to some alternator coil wire instead. mine is still dulling down. |

Ive always wanted to do a battlefield pickup, and finally did today. I'm really happy how it came out.

Got any pics of you holding it? Lean it up against a tree or something. |

You guys have it all wrong. Khyber Pass guns will have missing/broken stocks, nails for drift pins, etc. Add some colored tape for cracked wood and throw some stickers on them too.
Inspected these AKs in Astan back end of Sep. Of these the four on the left are Yugo M70/82s, single Romanian in middle, 2 Poles and on far right a Russian AKMS. The Ruskie has a bent barrel, removed bolt for excessive headspace and took the trigger group out to repair another. Attached File CD |
