Trying to figure out how to mount optics on my CNC Warrior build. I'm wondering if the rail mount slot is supposed to be parallel to the barrel?

If anyone could run this same mock up with an IMI receiver, I'd be really grateful.

the rail mount actually uses a dove tail base that slides into the scope mount all the way to the rear.
the mount then slots over the dovetail and a screw holds it together.
i'g go with a railed gas tube or one of the two piece setups from 24hourtactical depending on how far back you want your optic.

I'm mainly wondering if my receiver is out-of-spec. I don't understand why the dove tail is milled at a different angle relative to the barrel.

I checked my IMI 386 Galil. The mount slot is also not parallel to the barrel. It'is at the same angle as yours.

if you had an original mount you'd see the flat on top is in line with the barrel.
