I used to have a nice 7.62mm / .308 Galil. Bought it NIB way back when. Even where these were being sold spares where hard to come by; even finding mags was difficult.
It was a nice rifle, heavy, but nice. But due to the spare parts issues and Mag prices and back then (maybe future) gun bans (and mostly average accuracy) I traded it off for a Nat. Match M1A. ( which I later sold and upgraded to a SuperMatch). My only suggestion, weak as it is, would be to just purchase a complete galil rifle just like what you own and use that as a spare parts donor. They are built like a tank, I have a hard time thinking under normal use anything would break on the Galil. The IDF is known for being rather brutal on rifles. The other alternative might be to purchase a parts kit (everything but the lower ). Good Luck! |

Yeah, 5.56.
Crazy question...will a Bulgarian 5.56 bolt work? They are '47 based, not '74. Do any AK-47 parts fit a Galil bolt, should I buy a stripped one? |

Several years before sons of guns was a TV show I got a spare Galil bolt from Red Jacket. Will himself even answered the phone. It was in great shape, but I sold it as I sold the gun. He even threw in some trigger parts as a free gift. GARY N4KVE
