Preban are very rare and hard to find. Expect to pay $4500 to $5500 for an original.

Has anyone seen a full stock yugo out of fiberstock Black? It was supposed to have been imported that way. It is marked Mitchell Arms AKMS 47, scratched out AK-47, no grenade site.
I don't think you'll find he lower hand guard in this country to fit the bigger trunnion.

Templar,
Help me out here! I just bought a Mitchell Arms Yugoslavian AK-47. Its not a RPK becuse I have one of those, Im told its a M77, This rifle looks exactly like a M76 only its .308 instead of .8mm. It has, so im told, the factory four power scope marked, ZRAK and has the papers and manual for the rifle and the scope, along with the sling and bayonet and is unfired and in perfect condition. Looking at the breakdown on Yugos I dont see a M77, thats what I dont understand because this says AK-47 on it and it has the long barrel of a M76. There is one on Gunbroker just like it right now, but no mount or scope and its listed as a M77 and its big bucks. If you can give me any info it would be of GREAT THANKS!. take care,
Chefgun.
GOD BLESS THE US.AND OUR TROOPS!!

The one on Gunbroker now is an M90 which is the .308 version of the AK and previously known as an M70.  From AKE/Templar's table above you will wee that 800 were imported.  Most or all had the electropencil treatment over the model number.  Someone shellaced the wood and added the scope.

Good useful information. I came back from working in Kosovo not long ago 03-05 and had lots of genuine Yugo's of all kinds to play with. One of the best cycle rates and accuracy that I have seen in the 7.62x39 AK's and we had several different kinds in evidence.

What is the source of the data?

The source of the data is from the importer....and guess who used to work there in the good old days?

I'm not telling.....hahahahahahahahah.

Templar pulled this post from AK-47.net that I put up years ago. Thank you for your inquiry.

Are the kits we are getting on our Yugos today included in this number?  Are my Century builds accounted for here, or are we talking about complete rifles?

I have a Zastava-Kragujevac 7.62X51.The barrel is not finned at the point under the gas adjusting ring. It has a plastic stock with thumb hole ,which looks ridiculous. Can you tell me if this is rare and also do you know what this rifle was fitted with for a stock and can this stock be replaced. I am an ameteur trying to learn.[email protected]

My brother has a pre ban Yugo AKM with blonde furniture.

Was this one of the 1,000 standard Yugo imports?

It is very accurate with Chinese steel core ammo.

I also  have a pre-ban yugo with a very low serial number.

This has been my experience with the Mitchell Yugos. Tough, good-looking blondes liking the Chinese steel core. Mine is more accurate out to 300 yards than any AK has a right to be!. Beyond 300, not so much cuz my eyes don't focus like that anymore. I have had opportunity to shoot a rifle like this with an original Yugo scope- guy said he bought it that way, I dunno, sure is a game-changer at medium ranges.

Anyone willing to update this thread to include the various Zastavas recently imported, including the N-PAP, O-PAP, etc??

The new(ish) Z-PAP has been generally getting glowing reviews. The only 922r parts are the furniture (US-made walnut) and the mag follower and floorplate (as best as I recall).

I recently got back in the AK world with a ZPAP M85 (5.56 pistol with the SB3 brace factory attached). Classic Firearms and Primary Arms seem to still have them in stock.

My only complaint has been that it was shooting way to the left, about 12" at 50 yards. I drifted the front sight drum and it looks a fugly now. Not sure if the front sight base is canted or maybe the rear although both look solid. I even sent it to Zastava and they said it's in spec and sent it back.

Other than that cosmetic sight issue the pistol is rock solid. Everything is nice and tight, especially the hinged top cover that holds the rear sight. The SB3 brace is very well done and seems tough enough to beat a camel to death with. The castle nut is even staked. The finish, wood, and other parts are well done. The trigger is typical mil-spec "full auto" style with a long, relatively light, gritty single stage with zero stacking or hint when the hammer will fall. It's not conducive to accurate shooting but there is no trigger slap at all and pulling the trigger and hearing that deep BOOM makes me grin.

It came with an excellent steel 30 round mag (typical European type and quality) that functions 100%. Zastava Arms USA sells OEM steel mags for $40 each. AC Unity mags fit perfectly and also function 100% and are a steal at $14 and are equal to PMAGs in quality imho. I also have a few Bulgy Circle 10 (black) mags that locked up in the ZPAP but were super tight but after some minor filing on the mag's front lugs they lock in fine and run 100%. I even tried a Bulgy 20 rounder (clear plastic Circle 10) that locks in fine without need for filing and also runs 100%. Brass is flung about 20' to about 1-2:00 with most casings having a small nick or dent but it's not mangled.

Accuracy has been good imho. With cheap, bulk 5.56 FMJ groups are 2.5-3" at 50 yards with 1.60" being my best group (using Fed XM193 LC18 headstamps). I mounted an Aimpoint H1 4moa on the Pic. rail that it comes with (great feature BTW).  Best 5 shot group at 100 yards has been 2.20" using Australian Outback 69gr Sierra. AO 55gr Blitzking gave me a 2.80". Wolf Gold printed 4.6" and surprisingly, FN surplus SS109 62gr printed 3.6" at 100 yards which is about the best this load can do in any AR with a 10X scope! Wolf Steel 55FMJ function 100% but accuracy sucks, probably 6-7MOA.

After a few hundred rounds, there is no internal wear, pitting, peening, or signs that it was even fired.

I personally like 5.56 AK's due to the excellent ammo availability and this seems to be an excellent example.

Just sought this information because laws are changing in my state and I now need to provide more information.
I have an RPK47 made by Zastava and sold by Mitchell. I need documentation that my RPK-47 was manufactured before 94...and a shipping date for it would likely suffice instead manufacture date.  I've had no luck seeking Mitchell info and have an email request in with Zastaza. If you have more details of the shipments you list maybe there are serial numbers or ranges included with the import info.. I'd appreciate any help.
